1 PM PDT of the 30th the Cancer Moon sextiles Pallas. You can feel or intuit the smart thing at this time. 9 PM PDT the Moon trines Neptune. Imagination and artistic inspiration come through or are triggered by the emotions.

31 May we may find ourselves, like sunflowers, turning our faces toward the sun of the social sphere or those in charge; we may temporarily lose our values to the dazzle of those with power and mystery—and though little lasting damage may occur, we still might feel disoriented from this brief (and for most of us totally uncharacteristic) foray into worship of what’s shiny or strong. If this is our thing, then successful partnership with the powerful is possible, and reward may come from re-tracing our steps or pulling from experience. Just be aware that all actions and choices at this time have a back story, one that could hold deep implications for the future. 1 June we may wake up and wonder who polished up the world while we slept—intelligence is rewarded, we make smart choices in relationships and finances, wisdom soaked in love is being served up everywhere, and generosity comes naturally to the well-adjusted (and is showered on everyone else, making them a whole lot mentally and emotionally healthier, too). We see, and so can learn, everything we need to know, and we are in a perfect position to assess the worth of that knowledge. 2 AM PDT of the 29th the Gemini Moon sextiles Uranus and trines Zeus. Spontaneous discussion or thought on ambitions and desires is on the agenda. It’s a good time to network–you can get the support you need by showing your uniqueness–or if you’re on your own you’ll have good ideas and can ponder inventive moves to take you closer to your goals. 4 AM PDT the Moon trines Vesta. You are in harmony on the home front, with the mate, or with those causes to which you are dedicated. Use this flow to enhance the relationship. 6 AM PDT the Moon squares Chiron. We may shut down over hurt, or meet the challenge and pull Chirotic skills into the mix–your choice. 8 AM PDT the Moon trines Ceres and quincunxes Saturn. Who holds authority is up for discussion–and negotiations will necessitate some changes to the rules or boundaries currently in place. 11 AM PDT the Moon hits the midpoint of Juno-Jupiter. We see the emotional repercussions of serious power struggles–or we are emotionally caught in the middle of some sort of parental-feeling dispute. Ideas about who’s right may change with the wind–so stay neutral and out of it, if possible, and remember, it’s not really your fight. Unofficially, the Void begins at 11:45 AM PDT as it leaves the midpoint–officially it begins at 9:15 AM PDT as the Moon leaves quincunx with Saturn–but that’s only if you count the quincunx. Traditionalists begin the Void at 9:07 AM as the Moon leaves trine to Ceres–but that’s only if you use asteroids. If you want only strict Ptolemaic aspects and major bodies, we see the Void begin at 3 AM Pacific. The Moon enters Cancer at 7:14 AM PDT of the 30th. No matter where you start it, this is a very long Void. Generally, things go unexpectedly, and efforts begun at this time often as not come to nothing–so conserve your ammo, as they say, just for now.

5 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Neptune. This is the time for dreaming–or for inattention that can harm or even kill. Stay off heavy machinery, don’t drive–basically avoid everything they tell you to avoid when you take cold medicine! Artists, idealists, prevaricators–jump right in, you’ll be swimming in inspiration and full-blown ideas–take your pick. 8:30 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Mars. If we ‘own’ our own assertive energies, we are able to deploy them in skillful and imaginative ways; if we disown our assertiveness, we run the risk of attracting anger, aggression, or egotism–unpleasant to deal with, to say the least. Remember, Lunar aspects have a span of influence lasting roughly 4 hours before perfection to 4 hours after.

Today’s image is a clock face with no hands. Though it seems like a cliche, it’s really true that we feel like we have all the time in the world–until we don’t. Just be aware that for us mortal creatures, it’s passing.

19 May we are more than ready to face the Powers-that-Be, and to wield some power of our own. The stakes feel exceptionally high, and may be stated in a Love or Power equation, a false dichotomy if there ever was one. The reality is we needn’t give up either option, if we have the cojones to openly refuse to abandon either. The only thing this will require, besides the requisite chutzpah, will be a willingness to adjust the identity, to say, ‘Yes, I want power, yes, I want Love’. 17 May we get some clues as to what might be disjointed about our ambition picture and plan, and though the mentality perceives things in a light that respects our highest values we may still be too reactive to the primal wound to make truly objective choices. Relationships and/ or the financial situation will not be of help, and may actually distract us or put us on what we’ll later consider ‘the wrong track’. The answer may be to wait to make any significant choices; currently our fears or the influences of others or our ongoing situation are too strongly felt to be removed from any equation, and so may exert more pull on our decisions than we realize. Have the courage to say, “I don’t know”, “Not yet”, and “We’ll see”. (Perfecting today: Pallas semi-square Zeus, Venus opposed Vesta, Mercury trine Vesta and square Chiron)

18 May we may feel highly inventive and original in areas of Love, relationships, or in ways to earn, but we resist sharing our ideas, and with good reason: those in power are listening, ‘ears to ground’, as they say, looking for an opportunity outside the current structure. Though that may seem like it offers the perfect chance for mutual benefit, the thing you need to know about those in charge is that they’re not looking for collaborators. Nurture your uniqueness, your ideas, and your ability to innovate in private, with an agenda of considering how you might alter the existing structure in a way that conveys the power directly to you. The Full Moon for May occurs on the 14th at 12:15 PM PDT at 23 Scorpio 54. This Full Moon is widely conjunct Saturn, conjunct Earth, and opposed Sedna-Sun, all across the Taurus-Scorpio axis, giving this FM a flavor of finality, the kind we’ve ‘known’ was coming all along, a shadow lurking at the back of our minds. When reading this FM within your own chart, make sure you read it across the pair of Houses in which the FM and Sedna-Sun fall, because this is a culmination that will be active in both arenas—in fact, it may be difficult to tell where the FM falls just by House activity, as there may be as much of an ending in the House opposing the FM as there is in the one where it occurs.

What ends may be something secret, destructive, undermining, or hidden, as the impetus with the FM may be to move in the direction of Ultimate Truth. Our instinctive understanding may tell us what is changing in terms of energy shifts and the unseen world, but we can look for some material echo of this in the House where the FM occurs—here Saturn manifests something concrete that reflects the ending or change we know is coming about.

12 May we’re focused on empowerment and think we know just how to achieve this, but we can’t make our ideas work unless we are willing to modify our actions or approach so that it respects current power arrangements. Too, there’s some underlying antagonism in relationships and possibly over money that may interfere with choices/ taking action—our job is to keep a clear head, go forward in implementing our ideas, and to do so without knocking anyone else off their throne. 7 May we are stuck between our most original, unique, or rebellious urges and the dictates and expectations of the social order. What’s eating at us are our desires and ambitions, our goals and plans—we’re itching to get them underway, but find it’s exceptionally difficult at this point; we can’t get a straight answer and what we may lose in relationships, finances, or our chance at being a leader or a way-shower is something we just can’t determine right now. What will heal us, give us our perspective back? Connecting with the Earth, through gardening, sculpture, taking a walk, working with clay, or some other thing that quite literally grounds us. Then sit back and watch elements that were previously confusing fall into place. There’s a Water Grand Trine of Earth-Jupiter-Chiron and a Mystic Rectangle of Sun-Jupiter-Earth-Pluto right now; both configurations amplify what’s currently available. With the GT, intuition is magnified in the arena of application of unique skills to material matters. We each have those specific, Chirotic abilities we were meant to discover, cultivate, and share–this is one of those windows of opportunity when we have the ability to apply those skills to our surroundings, in use of our assets, or in the material picture in such a way that the abilities themselves are much more powerful than they would otherwise be–such is the amplification available through the configuration. With the Rectangle, we are given the vision or knowledge necessary to give the Soul expression in some material form right now; this will likely be through a vocational outlet, something we’re called to do or moved to participate in at this time. 3 AM PDT the Cancer Moon and Jupiter form the arm of a T-square with Uranus-Zeus. Intuition or the feeling nature–likely in an exaggerated form–can inform us as to the correct direction to take between going our own way or cooperating in hopes of fulfilling ambitions. 11 AM PDT the Moon squares Vesta, bringing conflict between feeling and the state of the home, the mate, or a cause to which we’re dedicated. We might need to ask ourselves whether we care as much as we think we do; genuine affection would most likely translate as acceptance rather than upset. 3 PM PDT the Moon trines Saturn, making it easy to contain our affections and give them tangible forms (or clear boundaries). 5 PM PDT the Moon squares Ceres. We find our own concerns are not the same as those of authorities, maternal figures, or those with whom we are negotiating; a quick review of who needs what may be all it takes to straighten priorities out. 9 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Sedna. By caring we access a part of our psyche and sensibilities that is usually out of range–enjoy the insight.

Today’s image is two small birds scuffling in the sky over territory. Most upset is over inconsequentials; make a point today to skirmish only over what really matters, Big Picture.
