Necessity is today not the mother of invention but the mother of action; we realize those things we thought might pay off aren’t going to–we’re too touchy about the subject, too prone to rebel out of perceived hurt–and we see that, though ‘old’ potentials are not going to pan out, ‘new’ ones occur to us, with the bonus possibility they offer healing to that old situation we know now will never be (or never be ‘right’). Empowerment is just a (good) idea away; look to the House that contains Sagittarius or has Sag on the cusp, or that relates to ‘bigger, better’, opportunity, or accumulated knowledge from the past, for inspiration, clues, or the very idea itself (Perfecting today: Chiron novile Ceres, Mars sextile Saturn, Venus contraparallel Jupiter, opposed Uranus, and quincunx Chiron, Mercury novile Juno)

‘After the Rain’ Antonio Sicurezza 1976 {{PD}}

Are we fueled by the urge to avenge our wounds or to heal them? That may be the question today, as matters ignored, denied, or that foster rage irritate us at a subliminal level and bring forward some of the most original and creative responses possible. That’s what’s so surprising: that what might under other circumstances cause a negative reaction this time sparks a kind of genius thought process that centers on ambitions and desires and shows us exactly how to handle the material world to make ‘it’ happen. Be prepared: power issues will be a big factor, and even if they’re not obvious they’re really what things are all about. Focus moves to the far horizons, to adventure, to finding the facts and letting others know our beliefs, courtesy of the Sun in Sagittarius–happy Solar month, Sag! (Perfecting today: Black Moon Lilith sesquiquadrate Sedna, Uranus novile Neptune, Saturn sextile Ceres, Mars parallel Chiron, Mercury semi-square Zeus and novile Pluto)

Enjoy your Sunday!

We’re dazzled by possibility, by hope, willing to honor our highest standards and priorities–we see what’s important–and that’s very good–the problem is that our thinking, or what’s communicated to us, is surprising, definitely out of the box, and possibly subtly destructive, if we’re prone to respond with erratic behavior or sudden anger. We can turn on ourselves if we’re not highly accepting of our own most unusual and original qualities–those most likely to Self-destruct are those who don’t like, or trust, themselves–today everyone else can make a pure and unique statement about who they are and what they care about in life (Perfecting today: Sun sextile NN, semi-square Pluto, and trine Vesta, Mercury parallel Pluto and sesquiquadrate Uranus)

Many thanks to those who support the blog, whatever form that takes. And everyone, have a great Saturday!

You can find the right form today for big creative ideas. Sculptors in Ancient Rome oil on copper by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema (1877) {{PD}}

On the 20th inspiration, imagination, and creativity (Neptune) all find smart outlets (and likely concrete ones, with Pallas sextile in Capricorn). If you have a natal point or placement in the 5-9 degree range of Leo (forming apex to a Finger of God with base of Neptune-Pallas), you may find this is instrumental in this creative expression–in fact, this may describe the ‘form’ or shape the result takes (or involve matters of the House this body rules, if any). Neptune and Pallas, meanwhile, catch Ceres between them, suggesting that getting the two to work together offers us a powerful and persuasive energy upon which to draw.

Thoughts (Mercury) are far-reaching, expansive, and ideas sample the best of one’s philosophies and beliefs (Merc into Sagittarius); communications can be based on fact and what we need to discover is easily found, which makes things clear and direct. Conflicts may confine themselves to relationships, or possibly spending surrounding luxuries or aesthetics; whatever upset comes forward, know that what’s behind it is a buried fear of destruction or even death–knowing that, we can easily handle things, put boundaries on fears and ground them in the here and now, and so keep them in perspective (Venus in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn).

Remember those genius ideas you had yesterday about ambition fulfillment, advancing your career, or getting what you desire, that you just couldn’t implement, because challenging the form of those ideas seemed sacrilegious? Today we are able to see real-world possibilities that can help us manifest those goals (Sun novile Zeus and parallel Saturn)–and who could want more than that?

Have a great Friday! You like to get paid for your work, don’t you? Me too! If you’re a frequent visitor, please consider making a small donation. Thanks to All!

The Cliffs of the Island of Møn, by Louis Gurlitt 1841 {{PD}}

The Cliffs of the Island of Møn, by Louis Gurlitt 1841 {{PD}}

We may find ourselves resisting what lies ahead, or working against the Path we’ve laid out for ourselves (Mars contra-parallel the North Node); we also may find ourselves active in relationships that seem to push us to the edge, inspiring some very unwise options (Venus contra-parallel Pallas). The mind isn’t helpful, either: we have some genius ideas about ambition fulfillment or goals, and though they fit our stated life direction they are subtly, even unconsciously destructive, as we don’t see the downside–and we are not about to question our ideas or what we’re thinking–we’re treating that as sacred (Mercury sextile NN, semi-square Pluto, novile Zeus, trine Vesta). It’s the kind of day we need to realize we’re off-kilter, somehow, and to leave big moves or decisions for tomorrow–things improve greatly by the 20th.

My schedule is nearly full–if you want something now’s the time–or see my books here.

Have a great day!

Jules Tavernier – ‘Sunrise Over Diamond Head’, 1888 {{PD}}

Merc and the Sun, just having met in Scorpio in Superior Conjunction (that is, with Mercury in apparent direct motion), now turn our serious, intense gaze on what’s wise or practical (both novile Pallas), in terms of our real-world options (Merc parallel Saturn). It seems that if we research, investigate, or think deeply about something, some obstacle, problem, or issue we’re facing, the answer, or at least the next best step, comes to us. That’s nice, isn’t it? Especially considering there are two small rough points we may have to deal with: one will come in the form of the social circle vs. the individual seeking to exercise status, or in the form of one who’s trying to expand and one who’s trying to control that expansion (Jupiter contra-parallel Juno)–this is likely a stalemate; the second shows in the way relationships or financial matters are somehow smoothly able to hide what’s unpleasant or makes us angry (Venus parallel Black Moon Lilith). It’s as if those who love us, or our own resources (in the way we exercise our talents, or even spend) conspire with all those things we’d rather ignore to provide something soothing to distract us. That means we may enjoy the day, but be aware that could imply we miss our chance to find those answers we’ve been seeking–maybe put energy into first one, then the other.

'Le Reve' (The Dream)-Puvis de Chavannes-Orsay 1882 {{PD}}

‘Le Reve’ (The Dream)-Puvis de Chavannes-Orsay 1882 {{PD}}

Our vision, our dream, is in conflict with reality right now, but even if our gaze is firmly fixed on real-life and What Is, we are unable to perceive it with any accuracy. This is the premise from which we must begin our musings; it seems, though, we are prone to do the opposite, to make up our minds about reality, to judge it according to the things we imagine are true, and to treat that as Truth. If we’re aware of this tendency, we might be more prone to making fewer pronouncements about what will happen, or about what we or others should or shouldn’t do.

This can be our best use of the energies: knowing that lies, illusion, fantasy, or idealization overlays our perception of reality, and that barriers, boundaries, rules, and a ‘lack’ mentality may infect our dreams, our ideals, and our creative urge. ‘What Is’ may seem untenable, insurmountable, or far different than it really is. We should be glad of this dissonance; it forces us to move more slowly, to look with more care, and it urges us to wait for facts, and then to examine those thoroughly and with caution, aware that these may distort the picture or hide something important. ‘Seeing Is Believing’ may be the sum of this aspect, and yet it’s exactly what we shouldn’t do.

We can be inspired by what we perceive about the world at this time, but we can’t take that inspiration at face value; there is too much ephemeral, hidden, or just plain false in our awareness of reality. We may have some luck by willingly putting boundaries on our dreams–that brings the energy of the square under our control (Saturn) and so means we can shape the dream (Neptune) within parameters (Saturn) we choose. Currently Neptune is poised to go direct and sit stationary for enough time to allow Saturn to catch up and complete the square on the 26th. They stay within orb through roughly late December, but again do a long slow dance starting mid-2016.

I wanted to add this: It occurs to me there’s another possibility: that through something difficult (the square) we get the real facts about some matter that has been confusing, impossible to understand, or obscured in some fashion. As always, there are a thousand ways to read aspects–that’s just another!

Outlook for the 17th is in the previous post. Thanks!

Sedna in Taurus is drawing our attention through relationships, finances, communications, our thinking, or all of them, showing us via material situations or those that relate to security (Taurus) where we need to observe and respond. The asteroid carries a variety of subtle meanings; she is the skeleton woman, representing the pattern of life-death-life, the great angakok (magician), and because she lies at the bottom of a cold Northern ocean, specifically points to our unused, misused, and disused life energies and impulses to create (especially those related to the anima of either sex). Her presence in the chart is revealing of what we may be aware of only unconsciously, or of matters we have pushed down or let go, allowing them to fall to the bottom of our own emotional and creative ocean–but they are there, lingering, exerting an influence, and so filling our perceptual ‘blind spot’, that area and those matters we just seem unable to perceive, in spite of the way they are typically obvious to everyone else. When brought to the surface (and this isn’t easily done) we gain power that may seem magical, but it’s only the strength of one who faces all their issues, ignoring nothing, accepting and so dealing with what we may prefer to remain unaware of.

On the 17th Venus is sesquiquadrate Sedna, and the Sun and Mercury, conjoined, are opposed it. This may present as rough relationship or financial doings about which we continue to maintain that we see and understand the situation clearly. Something is influencing our perceptions, and our thinking, and yet our own hidden matters are exerting their influence and we just can’t see how these are driving action and reaction in money or relationship matters, or in our own thinking; we are too busy believing it’s the other person, the money situation, or the assets themselves that are causing discord. The Sun’s contact to Sedna while conjoined with Mercury in Superior Conjunction gives us the opportunity to successfully bring one or more matters up from the depths and resolve them–if we’ll only acknowledge the influence they are having on our perceptions in the first place.

'Nordic Summer Evening' by Richard Bergh c1900 {{PD}}

‘Nordic Summer Evening’ by Richard Bergh c1900 {{PD}}

I currently have openings in my schedule–if interested, please see the Services page for details–thank you!

The 15th we may find that dreams don’t fit our ideas of what constitutes successful status or empowerment, and confusion over what goals and partners we should reach for are almost a given. Here’s our guide: sort options by using ideals as a measure, and ask yourself, do I want the dream, or do I want the status? You may have to choose, though it’s worth considering that one or the other may not be a true fit (Perfecting today: Neptune sesquiquadrate Juno)

By the 16th relationships, and to a lesser extent communications, are firmly centered on what’s been denied, ignored, or what angers us. These upsets may not be the subject of interactions, but they will make up the underpinnings, and offer an opportunity to clear the air and make relationships as open and honest as possible. The good news is that our actions and choices create the future in a very direct way right now, and dreams reflect what we truly honor–and awareness of this means we’ll likely aim high with both (Neptune parallel Vesta, Mars parallel NN, Sun parallel Mercury, Venus conjoined and Sun/ Mercury semi-square Black Moon Lilith, with Sun-Merc meeting the 17th in Superior Conjunction, so that hidden or ignored matters may be instrumental in forming the resolution we can expect at the SC–which of course was seeded at the Inferior Conjunction of 30 September)

If you’d like to support my work, buy a book, or make a small donation using the button at right–and many thanks to those who already have!

William-Adolphe Bouguereau 'Bacchante' (1894) {{PD}}

William-Adolphe Bouguereau ‘Bacchante’ (1894) {{PD}}

On Friday we seem to face our nemesis (or if not the outright enemy, our opposite number, our counterpart–but intriguingly enough, we find the asteroid Nemesis at almost 15 Libra, square Pluto–and that implies that relationships, perhaps even our closest ones, could present a resistant kind of interaction that, if it escalates to conflict, could become seriously destructive). This may cause some hurt, chiefly by having to face the reality picture–but, if we are willing to consider change, and to use talents and assets to tackle what comes forward, then we may reap real-world rewards, particularly the solid, hold-in-your-hands kind.

Talk may be blustery, exaggerated, or expansive, opening our imagination to worlds, or offering us new knowledge, but our minds may do best applied to those matters we’ve ignored or denied, or in handling those things that make us almost primally angry–we have an ability to deal with those things particularly well right now (Venus parallel Chiron, contra-parallel Mars, and sextile Saturn, Mercury sextile Jupiter and novile Black Moon Lilith)

By Saturday Pacific time we may find our Will thwarted, but we have to ask, is this Self-imposed, threatened by another, or are we avoiding acting because we fear we may not have the skills to make it happen? It’s true that we may be a little confused or misguided about our assets and talents, but we’re also on the edge of inspiration, sending sensitive perceptual and psychic tendrils out in search of a way to unite our abilities with our dreams–so persistence in pushing through the fog may yield the hope, the clarity, and the wisdom we’re looking for (Mars contra-parallel Chiron, Venus quincunx Neptune, Mercury semi-square Pallas).

Get your weekend off to a great start–smile, and enjoy what you’ve got
