By 9:30 AM PDT of the 26th the Moon is quincunx Uranus and trine Chiron, and soon moves on to quincunx Jupiter, forming a Finger of God. With apex Moon and base of Uranus-Jupiter, we may see a need for the individuality and unique creativity to fit in to the social arena–and when this happens, an intense emotional payoff (Moon in Scorpio) is the result. The trine to Chiron suggests something interesting: that hurt, the ability to empathize, and/ or one’s own unique skills may serve to heal an element vital to allowing the Finger to work. That is, a healing may occur, and this will prompt one to feel confident enough to reveal that creative individuality on the social scene, and thereby derive satisfaction. Win!

A little something from ECLIPSE about your day:

On the 25th communication gets a hot wire up its a**, with enlivening, and possibly calamitous, results, and the Sun sextiles the South Node, for some pointing out that the current situation is a replica of something that came before, while for others it shines a light on how to handle that communication live wire.

Just a Little Astro Essence for 23-24 July 2012: ‘Take Care’

For the 23rd of July we meet a challenge: Mars trines Ceres but opposes Pallas, and this almost certainly says that someone with power or authority asks us to act in a way we know is wrong or unwise. The authority may be the rock, our own conscience and good sense may be the hard place, and we are stuck between, though one thing to keep in mind is that whatever it is ‘they’ are asking for, ‘they’ will change their minds (Merc retro)–so all we really need do is delay, in order to avoid disaster.

The 24th may be a tough day: the social order may be inflicting a particular kind of hurt (Jupiter square Chiron) possibly through gossip or rumors (Gemini, Pisces) that, if they hold any kernel of Truth at all, are probably grossly exaggerated. By 6 AM PDT the Moon opposes Uranus, quincunxes Chiron, and trines Jupiter, sending the emotions on a wild ride where they might reject any hint of uniqueness, believing hurt can be avoided in the shelter of the herd. Sometimes that’s a valid idea, and this may be one of those times.

{{PD}} Thanks, NASA!

For the 20th we see Jupiter sesquiquadrate Saturn, which may cause all kinds of discomfort as we try to adjust our attempts to reach out, expand, publicize, teach, and learn to the reality, rules, or restrictions presented to us–and this doesn’t even take into account retro Merc and our need for general communication caution–but with Merc’s contact to Pallas today, a great deal of the upset can be mitigated by consulting our own inner wisdom or a trusted advisor. Guidance sought will be guidance received–all you have to do is ask and answers will be provided. If our inner voice is muffled or confused, we can look to exercise our skills as a way to ‘open the door’ for some needed enlightenment.

7:30 AM PDT of the 17th the Cancer Moon creates a Grand Cross with opposition to Pluto and squares to Mars and Uranus. We see large, Archetypal energies in a bold pattern, and what it tells us is that the emotional perceptions may be challenged by three alternatives, none of which is a good choice! One direction will cause a release of destructive energies, one will have us put the ego first (in detriment to all other considerations), and the third may ask us to subsume the individuality to the group. What should we do? The first thing is to recognize the transience of this emotional challenge; it arrives no sooner than 3AM and is over by noon Pacific time, so not acting on this may be our biggest priority. Second, once the Moon moves on, the T-square with arm of Pluto will still be in place; now perhaps it’s time to look at the Cardinal energies for the punch they may be packing at this time.

Of course, Cardinal energies urge us to ‘do’, and we know this just isn’t a good time for that; at this point, we may feel a great deal of frustration, as this rather threatening scenario has been more or less in place for a long time. We are tired of the threat of loss and destruction, tired of the threat to our autonomy from the group, tired of the aggression of others threatening our ability to create and express through the individuality. It’s an exhausting dynamic, but we can actually get off the merry-go-round for a bit, with just this thought: it’s not the right time to act, so we don’t even have to entertain these energies for a while. Period.

Just a Little Something for Your Weekend, 14-16 July 2012: ‘The Fiery Impulse’

Thomas Cole 1828 {{PD-Art}}

On today’s Mercury Retrograde, which occurs at 7:16 PM PDT of the 14th at 12 Leo 32:

Our biggest danger during the retro time is that Mercury’s Fire placement during the initial change-of-direction could prompt us toward action with each review of Mercurial subjects and when we consider matters of the House where it turns around, as well as when we review matters of any House it may move into during the retrograde. This means that during the retro we may feel continually that ‘something must be done’, though what we need to remember at this point is that, though our re-consideration of matters reveals them in a new light, there will be other things hidden from us by the current retrograde motion of which we will remain unaware at least through the end of the retrograde, and quite possibly on through the shadow period (the time when a newly direct planet moves back through the degrees it just retrogressed through). It makes for a tough internal contradiction, as we ponder issues that quite naturally ‘light a fire’ under us that urges change, and yet we are in no sound position to make decisions that will make those changes effective!

And for tomorrow, the 15th of July:

By the 15th Saturn sesquiquadrates Ceres; authorities or our own power or maternal urges must adjust to the reality of things, likely needing to pull back and delay action, when we consider the other aspects in play–Mars semi-squares Juno, and Earth trines Sedna–actions may actually disempower us, and we just don’t have the ability at present to know what we might lose! A bit scary, unless we simply calm down and hold back. Dark of the Moon begins this evening, Pacific time, calling us to scale back and to meditate, contemplate, and go within.

We stretch into Monday, the 16th, and see what’s up:

Today Uranus also sextiles Ceres, giving the unique point of view and the individuality the license and authority to express; innovation can thrive, as can efforts by individuals and groups to work in harmony with nature. And, Venus trines Zeus, allowing us a glimpse of how desires may be fulfilled in relationship, and money can be earned through ambition–take note of what you realize/ see in this regard.

All this is from ECLIPSE, the Weekly Newsletter that features articles on astrology theory and practice, assessments of well-known people and events, commentary on specific astrological configurations, events, and aspects (this week, it’s Mercury’s Retrograde), and detailed forecast material one (and sometimes two) weeks at a time, using everything you’d expect plus Sedna, Ceres, Vesta, Pallas, Juno, Chiron, and Zeus, and featuring hour-by-hour major Lunar contacts and their meaning–all for only $5 per month!

Just a Little Astro Essence on Venus in the Natal Chart

‘A Breezy Day’ CC Curran 1887 {{PD-Art}}

Venus, of course, makes her presence felt by House at least twice in the natal chart, once in her rulership of Taurus, and once with Libra. These two signs are naturally quincunx each other, and this describes the way we quite typically see relationship matters (Libra) as incompatible with material ones (Taurus). We tend to believe that the lowest form of relationship in which we can engage is one where we receive a material benefit; we call this person a ‘prostitute’ or label them ‘kept’ and act as if this (a money for  action or energy exchange, and we condemn this in spite of the fact that a job has the same general parameters) is in itself a moral failing. Our natural uneasiness in mixing or equating the two must be tempered by an awareness that living in mutually beneficial material situations is really what we must do, not just for survival but in order to build civilization. We tend to see a relationship that involves love as more noble than one that provides something we need–and yet we mix these things, love and material need, all the time, particularly when we are in partnership–and perhaps that is one of the underlying reasons the mate relationship is so fraught with emotional landmines: we hold ourselves and our loved ones to impossibly high standards, demanding ‘pure’ love be given and received, and yet the very fabric of day-to-day requires an interdependence that, if we recognize any facet of it as a cold, material exchange, may de-value our relationship in our own eyes.

Just a Little Lunar Essence for Today 9 July 2012: ‘Acknowledging Resistance’

Sometimes, it’s a good thing to resist. ‘Young Girl Defending Herself Against Eros’ Bouguereau 1880 {{PD-Art}}

First Lunar aspect in Aries is the Moon’s opposition to Mars at 11 AM  Pacific. It may be a matter of someone highly emotional defending themselves, and someone sure of themselves but willing to partner not recognizing that the other person is feeling overrun. Internally we may see strong conflict from the emotions every time we try to act or choose. If this is the case, we are simply experiencing our own very real unacknowledged resistance to what we claim to want–and we’d be wise to take a step back and not push through unthinkingly.

Just a Little Something for Your Week (and Weekend) Ahead 6-12 July 2012: ‘A Fertile Time’

Makes the spiritual look almost romantic, doesn’t it? Don’t be confused–fertile influences are everywhere this week! Molteni 1838 /image by Artgate Fondazione Cariplo distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported via Wikimedia Commons

First, just a little something about your upcoming week, from ECLIPSE Weekly Aspect Digest:

I’d like to offer an unusual warning concerning the week ahead: if you’re looking to conceive a child, the time is ripe; if you do not want a child, make sure you take extra precautions, as the Universe is just a poppin’ with fertile energy of all kinds. If you’re in creative endeavors, this is also an excellent time for you–seminal work could be generated at this point, as can a wealth of inspirations that you may spend years after exploiting through your creative work. Even a late garden can flourish in the lee of the Full Moon, so honor all that grows–it will pay off tremendously.

Now, you can’t say I didn’t tell you what’s up! For Saturday we have this:

Vesta enters 29 degrees and we may feel a great deal of pressure around the things we dedicate our lives to, or around home or mate. A sorting out needs to happen, a re-evaluation, so that we are not putting our energy toward, or showing reverence for, outmoded ideas. The Moon’s contact to Neptune assists us with this, and allows us to be truly inspired in re-ordering our priorities.

And for Sunday, the 8th of July:

On the 8th of July Mars quincunxes Neptune, adding fuel and energy to the imagination/ creative fire, but part of what we’ll have to deal with is the need to modify our actions in order to see our vision realized. Don’t balk at having to make a few changes–you’re too close to quit now.

Get the full report, week after week, for $5 per month (or less, with a 6 month subscription!) If you’re here several times a week, then ECLIPSE is for you, with articles, info, and the complete forecast that uses Chiron, Sedna, Ceres, Vesta, Pallas, Juno, and Zeus and offers all major contacts/influences of the transiting Moon for the 7 day period. And Subscribers, among various typos in this week’s ECLIPSE, the one on the “sh*t down” of Arafat’s kidneys might take the grammar police cake! My apologies for a truly unsavory mistake.
