From the current issue of ECLIPSE:

28 September our dreams or delusions may be challenged by the social sphere or by our own need to expand or reach out; either way, we may end up defending those Neptunian constructs, but before you do, ask yourself if it might not be better to just let them go–it comes down to whether you are truly benefiting from them, or whether they are running on sheer Willpower or ego–if the latter, let them go and move on. The most positive thing we can do will be to think about how ‘natural’ that dream is to our sense of who we are.

The Moon’s Void begins at 12:32 AM of the 29th; the Moon enters Leo at 12:58 AM PDT. And at 8 PM PDT of the 29th the Moon conjuncts Pallas, squares Saturn, trines Uranus, and forms the apex (with Pallas) to a Finger of God with base of Pluto-Chiron. This is about recognizing reality and being responsive enough to it (through innovation, originality, or spontaneity) to make healing changes that are both smart and emotionally empowering; these changes might also open the intuitive channels and ‘let the signal through’. A huge opportunity to ‘tune in’ and get a lot right.

I loved this, at An Upturned Soul

A little something from ECLIPSE:

10 AM PDT the Moon conjuncts Venus in Leo. This could make for a pleasant get-together, though it might be safer, because of Mercury influences (and more satisfying) to sit in front of a mirror and notice our own beauty, and to assess our own worth–if we do this we will feel very good when we get done, and perhaps remind ourselves of how many good qualities we really possess.

13 June sees no new aspects formed, making the Lunar events stand out even more. 10 AM PDT of the 13th the Moon opposes Juno; we may resist that very thing or person who willingly empowers us–why? It’s likely the mistaken idea that we must achieve it on our own (Moon in Leo). 8 PM PDT the Moon squares Sedna and trines Earth. The world is our oyster–but we just don’t see that, as invisible problems nag and block us. An unfortunate period. 3 AM PDT the Moon sextiles Jupiter; expect a feeling of expansiveness, as if you can sense the whole world just by feeling. Void begins at 4:16 AM PDT; the Moon enters Virgo at 9:26 AM PDT of the 14th.

A little Lunar something from ECLIPSE for today, the 11th:

Noon Pacific time the Cancer Moon conjuncts Ceres; brace for an emotional encounter with Mother Nature, an infusion of personal power, authority, or maternal feeling, or an intuitive clarity in how to proceed in negotiation. Void begins 12:47 PM PDT of the 11th; the Moon enters Leo at 9:58 PM PDT.

And the aspect outlook for the 12th:

12 June You’ll notice that Venus’ foray to complete a T-square with Pluto-Uranus is not exact; she hits one, then she hits the other, which is understandable–but I’m guessing that it’s only when she has hit the body in higher zodiacal longitude that the whole picture of the T falls together. The dynamic may be this: being ourselves doesn’t pay, but neither does releasing personal standards and grabbing for bald power. We may be left with an unsolvable dilemma: money and especially Love do not seem compatible with our power needs or expressions, and yet, being more inventive, innovative, original, and stretching the intellect also fails to mesh with our relationship or financial needs. And this is part of the point: we feel that we need that income, or that love, so that simply sitting back and refusing to engage in the power plays and attempts to outwit what’s holding us back is not an option. The answer is cryptic, but full of possibility: information or a message, either from the past, or from the future, will tell us what we need to know. (Venus square Uranus, Mercury trine the North Node)

Your Week-End 17-19 May 2013: ‘With Care’

‘Jetty at Low Tide aka the Walter Pier’ Joseph DeCamp before 1923 {{PD-Art}}

Bits from the current ECLIPSE:

Around 5 PM PDT of the 17th the Leo Moon moves into a unique position: she ends up filling in a Fist of God as she squares the Sun (apex Pluto) and the Earth (apex Uranus). This double fist suggests an excessive amount of action and/ or tension in play, with the emotions or intuition fueling identity issues the result in change, transformation, or destruction, and with emotions or intuition fueling reaction to material matters that creates radicalism, upset, revolution, or that spurs originality and ‘forward thinking’. It’s certainly a day when anything really can happen–be ready.

18 May we may find ourselves and others hedging bets; relationships sparkle with surprises and ‘fresh’ interaction, but carry depths of danger, rage, or a serious interest in creating change, while communication is deceptive, confusing, or centered on fantasies, and even the most direct and honest of us will land slightly askew of reality. Caution will come naturally to most of us as we sense the riptide beneath otherwise gentle social and emotional currents. Accept the positive while remaining aware that shocks, deception, and some scary depths could wait just around the corner. (Venus sextile Uranus, quincunx Pluto, Mercury square Neptune, quincunx Saturn)

A little bit of Lunar essence for Sunday the 19th, also from ECLIPSE:

3 AM PDT of the 19th the Moon opposes Chiron, either making us hard as steel (“Nothing can hurt me!”) or melding us so completely with our pain we feel we are one. In either case, our best course of action is to ask ourselves ‘why?’–why do we hurt from this? why do we continue to live this moment as if it’s still happening? why don’t we let it go? 9 AM PDT the Moon trines the South Node and quincunxes Juno. Something from the past may cause us to stumble in implementing our own empowerment; take a critical stance, don’t just accept memories as accurate or still valid. 6 PM PDT the Moon squares Jupiter and trines Mars, making us keen to act but perhaps rubbing the social circle the wrong way. We are likely to be critical of others in justifying our own actions, but we need to remember, no justification is required, though we do need to make choices we can live with later. 9:30 PM PDT the Moon trines Sedna, pulling us deep into contemplation or Self-reflection, or blanking us out in escape mode. Neither is more virtuous, though we should keep in mind that if we’ve been avoiding looking closely at ourselves, now really is the time, as something productive will come out of it.

On Mercury Retrograde:

One constant for the period is that, with the Mercurial functions effectively ‘scrambled’, we must rely on feeling, sensing, and the intuitive (primarily Venus, and secondarily, the Moon) in order to function effectively and receive accurate ideas on how to proceed. These senses don’t replace Mercury–for most of us they only act during direct times to enhance our minds–but during a retro we must be more willing than usual to accept information we receive through the feeling function as valid and accurate, if only to keep us from sailing blindly off a cliff! We can look to our natal Venus for clues as to how best to approach things, for instance, looking for an ‘original spark’ to guide us with Venus in Aquarius, or directly using the emotions and intuition as a sensor with Venus in Cancer, or using assessments like appeal and appetite to reveal info with Venus in Taurus.

And on aspects for the 22nd:

For the 22nd of February only one, slight aspect forms: Venus moves semi-square Pluto–but oh, for those sensitive to the mixing of Love and Power, relationships and rage, beauty and, well, ugliness (though let’s say right up front that there’s a lot subjectivity in assessing those), this could be like walking in tender, bare feet on jagged glass, sort of a thing where you think, oh I can make it across fast, and then find that not only is the pain unbearable and the glass cutting remarkably deep, but the expected glassless right-over-there is nowhere in sight. It’s not a pretty picture but it is an understandable one, if we realize that the coolness with which Venus in Aquarius approaches a passionate subject may be the trigger to some roiling anger long contained and now released. Pluto dissolves the container itself, and what remains is the understanding (Aquarius) of what Love and relationship really are.

For the 23rd:

2 AM PST brings a trine of the Leo Moon to Uranus, promising sudden emotional revelations or spontaneous revolution! Surprises abound. 4 AM PST the Moon sextiles Jupiter, exaggerating the effects of whatever Lunar contact to Uranus brought up. Proceed with care, because what’s going on now can easily go public. 7 AM PST the Moon quincunxes Chiron and forms the apex to a Finger of God with base of Chiron-Pluto. This ushers in circumstances that allow us to easily rid ourselves of old hurt, with a very positive emotional payoff should we let go of our wounds. If not, we can expect a blow-up that may add to our scar tissue, and create some significant new barriers in relationships.

Just a Taste of ECLIPSE, for Your Week-End 25-28 January 2013

‘Tea and Cakes’ Anker 1873 {{PD-Art}}

25 January We reach out but relationships are difficult (or at least require some conciliation, before we can really commune) and if we are expecting material or monetary rewards conferred by the social scene they won’t be forthcoming right now (Venus sesquiquadrate Jupiter)–BUT, and this is a really big one, we can gain an enormous amount of support and approval for the way we ‘shine’ , and that can result in significant rewards down the road (Sun trine Jupiter). This is the Sun’s pre-direction trine, and it offers a glimpse of what will be coming to us in the pay-off department with Jupiter’s direction and movement forward.

And from the Full Moon report for the 26th:

January Full Moon in Leo occurs at 8:38 PM PST of the 26th at 7 Leo 24: ‘Revolutionary Ideals’

We also look at the Sun’s Sabian to complete our Full Moon picture: ‘Beautifully Gowned Wax Figures on Display’. This is, in a psychic sense, what the Full Moon symbol is opposed to–in some respect likely related to the House matters in the natal chart where the Full Moon falls, or across the axis where the Sun-Moon opposition falls; we are bringing about a revolution by activating this ideal, and it means a moving away from a static, though acceptable, even lovely, stance we held up to this point in time in a very public way. Some pose or stance previously ‘on display’ will be replaced by a true, inner ideal, which will find an active (‘living’) outlet in the life.

January 27th sees Venus trine the South Node; this may result in an unconscious, gentle vortex (is there such a thing?) involving the past and either relationships or finances (you’ll know which by whatever one has given you a hard-line, Capricorn smackdown somewhere in your life history). You may find yourself sucked into a less-than-productive (or accurate) musing on the whole issue, and possibly squander a present-day offering of love or money in the process.

January 28th Mercury trine Zeus, and Uranus conjunct Pallas: these tell us the mind will be tuned like a laser to our deepest desires and ambitions–and so will automatically make decisions that lead us in this direction. Uranus-Pallas fires up our own sense of surety and unites inner wisdom with originality, innovation, and the spark of creative improvisation, and can take us a long way, if we let it. This will be an amazing day, for those who are able to let themselves be themselves–not as easy as it sounds.

Though I can't be certain, this postcard is probably pre-WW I German--the lucky mushrooms give it away!

Though I can’t be certain, this postcard is probably pre-WW I German–the lucky mushrooms give it away!

December 31st brings some kind of energy pile-up, as if all the leftovers for the year are being served today! And this may be how it feels, that it is necessary to deal with many of these influences so that the new year can start with a clean slate–and this is a more accurate perception than we might be willing to credit. For instance, Mercury enters Capricorn and sextiles Neptune, giving us a kind of shiny, optimistic hope for the future that’s grounded in realism, and Earth is sesquiquadrate the North Node while the Sun is sesquiquadrate the South; major efforts today will be put into making a positive material path into the future, while our attention may linger on all that was wrong with ‘What Was’. A useful exercise if we don’t become mired in it.

1 January 2013 is quiet–no, really, it is–with only the Sun quincunx Vesta to ruffle the new year. We’ll probably review what’s really important to us, vow to honor it–the usual pledge–and of course this time we insist we mean it.

4 AM PST the Moon quincunxes Pallas, requiring us to adjust the emotional outlook to what’s smart; we might otherwise have been tempted by a need for attention (Leo Moon) to do something definitely unwise.

Void begins at 5:12 AM PST; the Moon enters Virgo at 9:35 AM Pacific time.

Wishing All My Readers a Joyous, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year! Love, jd

Just a Little Bit About Your Weekend 22-24 June 2012: ‘A Contentious Climb’

‘The Peaks of Europe’ Carlos de Haes 1876 {{PD-Art]]

The 22nd of June kicks off our weekend (or wraps up our work week, or however you want to look at it!) with some complex and unavoidable questions of power, empowerment, authority, and control; who really holds it within a relationship will come into stark relief, and only a sense of the worth of the relationship itself, and/ or a sense of generosity or wisdom, will keep us out of a tangle. Pallas sesquiquadrate Juno invites us to question the wisdom of those ‘in charge’, while Vesta opposed Juno may stoke the fires of ‘my values are better than your values, what I care about and am committed to is superior to your petty status and influence concerns’–not an ally-winning statement, whether it’s spoken or just seeps out of one’s pores. But, our saving grace is Venus, still retro but reluctant to be, moving so very slowly, sextiling Pallas, and perhaps showing us in a slightly backhanded but no less charming way what’s really the smart approach here.

And there’s more!

The 23rd will be a busy day, a tense one, and may result in major change. Vesta perfects conjunction to Sedna, essentially removing our Higher Values compass; the most likely result may be that suddenly we are either uncaring of those things we normally revere, or we are unable to pinpoint them. This can be disastrous.

So finally:

Moon enters Virgo at 4:43 AM PDT of the 24th. Right away there’s a square to Ceres; the emotions, in critical-accounting mode, are immediately challenged to stand up for themselves in the face of those who believe their territory extends under our own skin! So we start off in defensive mode–and maybe it’s better that way.

Your Weekend 28-29 April 2012: ‘The Echo Effect’

'Echo' by Cabanel 1874 {{PD-Art}}

From ECLIPSE Weekly Aspect Digest:

For the 28th Mercury opposes Zeus and the Sun sextiles Chiron.  That ‘echo effect’ may cause some obstinate insistence that we get what we want–it’s almost like we want to hurt ourselves by overreaching and talking trash! Just proceed carefully–messages may seem to deny our aspirations, but the operative word is ‘seems’. We shouldn’t react to what we hear today–it’s almost like it’s meant to poke us in the eye, and send us off in the wrong direction! Stay level-headed and calm, and don’t look for injury when none was intended.

And for the 29th:

A 1 PM PDT trine of the Moon to Mercury in Fire says the words may flow, with ‘heated discussions’, inflammatory opinions, and ‘take no prisoners’ ‘honesty’ on the menu. A concurrent sextile of Moon to Zeus suggests that what’s really on our minds is getting what we want, or fulfilling ambitions–keeping this in mind, as the ‘back story’ to everything communicated right now, will go a long way toward explaining motives and true intents. Just remember, yours will show, too.

Dear Subscribers, you’ll note that the Moon moves into Leo, AM Pacific time on Saturday, and that I neglected in the Weekly to say just which sign it would enter (though I guess we can assume it will be the one following Cancer 😉 )

And if you’re looking this over and it’s still Friday (or your local equivalent), please see the Lunar notes for this day, below.

Someone holds a spoon to Hans Holbein the Younger's painting 'The Ambassadors' so we can observe the 'trick' included by the artist. Thank You to Anonymous (she gets around, doesn't she?) Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 Generic

I won’t always be here on the blog to spoon up little tidbits of astro-delectability and advice, so make sure you don’t miss a thing: Subscribe! You’ll receive a new issue of ECLIPSE every Thursday (Pacific time), filled with detailed daily Lunar and aspect info, and other astro-commentary–and Thank You to All who’ve been so supportive of me and ECLIPSE–we’re enjoying our third year with you!
