Moon, Moon in Cancer, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

I chose only two days in May to emphasize specifically in the May forecast in ECLIPSE, and the 19th was one of them, with certain effects beginning today, the 17th. I found the 19th to be emblematic of the entire month, and a focal point for all that’s in play right now–and I don’t repeat myself (at least, not on purpose) so what you’ll see here on the blog are more general observations, primarily of the Moon conditions, which of course acts as the symbol giving us an emotional window into the Soul. Let’s start with the Cancer Moon’s trine to Pallas, around 2 AM PDT.

Harmonious contact between the Cancer Moon and Pallas suggests there is wisdom in our feelings, in empathy, and in nurturing; the emotions and intuition guide us well at this point. For those of us getting our shut-eye when this occurs, we should look to the emotional impact of our dreams–this will tell us a great deal about where we’re going right, and where wrong.

Around 7 AM PDT on the 17th the Moon comes within range of conjunction to the South Node and a square to Zeus. For those who want to free themselves from memory (and real-life) replays of power imbalances, ambitions denied or contested, or the emotional playback of their own course altered by the Will of another, this aspect will only make it worse. Re-living the conditions that made you miserable has a purpose, however, and that is to build your own Will and ambition to the point where you will take charge of your own destiny and express your own ambitions and wants. Those are big concepts that can only be reached by a willingness to be truly responsible at the everyday level for ourselves–and even the most accomplished (or Willful) among us may feel a twinge that pushes us in a better, more honest, and certainly less miserable, direction, because inevitably, everyone has an experience of our wants, and what seems to be our path, denied.

By about 10 PM the Moon sextiles Sedna, and we may feel emotionally bereft. After dealing with our ‘power unpleasantness flashback’ likely all afternoon, we may find ourselves not so much drained as empty of feeling–the distinction being that one brings with it a sense of weariness, while a feeling of emptiness is just that–no emotion to speak of. This is simply a safety mechanism to protect one from whatever harshness came forward as the Moon joined the ongoing Zeus/ Nodes T-square. Reliving our past upsets was bad enough, but now we feel we need a vacation from present stresses, as well–and this aspect gives it, if only for a few hours.

We hit the emotional trifecta around 9 AM on the 18th, and this lasts through the Moon’s entry into Leo at 2:06 PM PDT, as in some ways this is the perfect emotional build-up to the wallop of the 19th. The Moon sits at the midpoint of Venus/ Vesta, sextiles Saturn, makes a Grand Trine with Earth and Uranus/ Jupiter, sextiles the Sun, and quincunxes Neptune. We spend a large chunk of the day in emotional high-gear, as we are required, in a rather dramatic and serious way, to make choices based on our most important values, to accept change and growth according to what the group dictates, and to mold ideals and goals to the circumstances presented. Circumstances under these influences can ask us to be very different, and to change our aims, from the way we believe we should be, and this will be especially challenging for those not dealing with major Uranian upset at this time (those who are have a whole ‘nother thing going on–again, already covered in ECLIPSE). Dealing with this late May time period, as Uranus comes to the Aries point, will be different for each of us–but a challenge for all of us.

If you like what you see here on the blog, you’ll love ECLIPSE, with three months of Forecasts, details about Chiron into Pisces, Uranus into Aries, and ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ for New and Full Moons–also articles on Ceres, synastry, the Sun/ Earth axis as Soul and Material Purpose indicators, a bonus re-print on Kurt Cobain’s mysterious stomach ailment, and much more, including general requirements if you’d like to get a paid gig in ECLIPSE! More and more I’ll be keying the journal and the blog to complement each other, including offering free services to each journal purchaser (this time: an analysis of Ceres in your natal chart)–and that means that accessing the blog, buying the journal, and taking advantage of services offered will be like having your own personal astrologer–for only $2.95! My Daily Astrology Diary, the Asteroid Zeus, the Magazine, Venus

Bromidi 1865 While Neptune drives, Venus helps lay the transatlantic cable, which could be a euphemism for what she's doing now with Zeus

The trine that will be in place between Venus and Zeus through the 6th of May is a good place to start today. Both are in Air, and both have a big stake in coming across well to the opposite sex (or to the sex in which they’re interested!) Venus, of course, is anima oriented, and Zeus is animus aligned, and this means that the way one will approach this aspect interaction will be keyed to one’s own primary viewpoint. Now, what does it promise?

A trine is ‘easy,’ meaning the two energies will co-operate without any effort; in this case, the woman, beauty, assets, earnings, what’s of worth, envy, jealousy, greed, luxuries, what’s reproductively oriented, the cost of what we want, will be caught up with the man, the ambitions, the Will, the lust, the desire, the wound of the ‘lost’ father, what one wants without regard to cost, and this interaction could be the start of any number of ‘new’ concepts, ideas, mental outlooks, relationships, or other connections (Air, networker Gemini + partnership/ relationship Libra).

I guess I’m saying: watch out what gets going, starting about two days ago, right through the 6th, as the spark of contact may create something larger than the two parts from which it begins. We could see a lot of babies conceived, passionate acts perpetrated, lusts exposed, and episodes of falling in love, with any variety of person, thing, or goal. Earth and Pallas are exactly conjunct; if we can stay tuned to the material reality, aware of the actual circumstances of our lives, we won’t be swept into something inextricable by the romance (Venus) and lust (Zeus) of the influencing aspect. Uranus is in the 29th degree of Pisces, pushing us in the most nebulous way to express our most unique qualities, and the pressure to act up, show off, or make a splash will squeeze the subconscious and perhaps propel us forward when at another time we might be content to sit back and let events take their course without such strenuous, even desperate, input.

This is one of the most important influences imo for the coming few days, and each of us should consider how this influence might work itself into our lives. Be prepared: we could be setting up a situation where we receive rewards for going after what we want, where we create something new and bigger than the current elements might imply on their own, where the cost for our ambitions or lusts is not taken into account, and/ or where we change irrevocably our relationship to something or someone else, and the influence of what happens right now could stretch far into the future. Good luck everyone!

Once again, I’d like to express my gratitude to those who are supporting the new issue of ECLIPSE. All who purchase the Spring issue are invited to contact me at juliedemboski@hotmail.com with their birth data (one person only; you can submit info for a friend or relative instead of yourself if you choose) and a few salient details (are you a mother? an artist? do you work with or have a special connection to nature? have allergies or digestive ailments? are power relationships a ‘big deal’ in your life? do you negotiate successfully within your life, or do you tend to negotiate away power or responsibility?) and I’ll provide a personal portrait of Ceres at work in your natal chart. This will likely be comprised of a few paragraphs discussing its placement, its relationship to other placements, and the possible role her energy plays in your life, the positives and pitfalls. If you’d prefer, you may instead choose Zeus (star of the first issue, and a better fit for most male readers).  Thank you for all your support!

Today’s Link: immodestly, I list the new issue of ECLIPSE! Features useful forecasts for the coming three months, material on the Sun as a core identity indicator, synastry in action, Earth as our material purpose, Ceres, and much more! 2-3 May 2010: Determining the Source

Chiron, Kelly M. Beard, Moon in Capricorn, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

At 2:59 AM PDT on the 2nd the Moon enters Capricorn, and immediately sextiles Chiron. Sextile is a soft word, an ‘easy’ aspect, so shouldn’t we see this as positive? Well, maybe; it brings emotional illumination to the Chiron concept. A transiting energy is the pure form of the energy; unlike our natal Chiron vibe, the one the Moon ignites is Archetypal, meaning we will feel that Archetypal vibe enlivened within us, and unless this Moon or Chiron is aspecting something in our natal chart at the time they form aspect, we will experience it largely as a general Chiron energy of either hurt or healing. Illumination with a Moon aspect comes by the unique mechanism of reflection, meaning that what’s ‘lit up’ shines by what comes from a third party or source, and this implies that emotions and/ or intuition ‘get the shine’ from something else, but feel Chiron in response. This is true of all transiting Moon aspects, but it’s important to point out right now as we should know that the hurt or healing isn’t coming from the perceived (third party) source, but from within, from our own concept of Chiron that we carry ourselves. We can get a little glimpse of what Chiron means to us, a look at how we process the Chirotic challenges and energy, and it may give some insight on our natal Chiron situation, if we can separate Chiron from the emotional source.

Around 10:30 AM PDT the Moon conjuncts Ceres in Capricorn–this can be a point when we feel a strong entitlement to express our authority in a situation, but it can also be that we feel a right to exceed our normal boundaries. The urge to power and the desire to communicate it becomes even stronger as the Moon quickly follows with a conjunction to Pluto and a trine to Mercury. Likely subjects center on the material world; things and their disposition seem vital. Determining that you’re not the source for others discipline or authority is key. Try to ride this influence out by not taking circumstances, and especially yourself, too seriously, and definitely consider pulling back if you find yourself giving orders or critiquing another’s choice.

The taste of Chiron, Ceres, Pluto, and Merc drawn out by the Moon lasts all day (Pacific time), even when the aspects are past. Sometimes it seems aspect effects echo well beyond their time, usually when nothing else comes along to fill in with a new energy, and this is one of them, at least as far as our Moon responses are concerned. It isn’t until the 8-9 PM hour PDT that the Moon gets out of her rut, with quincunxes to Juno and Venus in Gemini. Here the idea is to adjust the emotional landscape to accommodate a genuine period of ‘woman power,’ your own or another’s. The Capricorn Moon may at first resist giving it up for the ladies, but she can be talked (or thought) into it (Gemini)!

By 2 AM PDT on the 3rd the mood breaks as the Moon trines the Sun and squares Zeus. The emotions shine out, and bring conflict with the ambitions and Will of others. Just conduct yourself so that it isn’t payback for earlier in the day!

3:30-ish AM on the 3rd the Moon conjuncts the North Node, quincunxes Mars, and sextiles Pallas. If you’re awake (no matter where on the globe you are!) you’ll see quite clearly where you’re headed, and you can easily muster energy to modify course and to do it wisely. This lasts through the day of the 3rd Pacific time, so enjoy it!

30 April-May 1 2010: Finally!

Moon, Moon in Capricorn, Moon in Sagittarius, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

And by ‘Finally!’ I mean finally the spring issue of ECLIPSE is here. It was true labor–yes, of love, and it was work, but I mean more like birthin’ a baby labor: hot, sweaty, and owww, but look what you have at the end! So, if you’re interested, you can get my baby here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ The Winter issue is now at a back issue price, if you’d like to catch up with the masses! http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/

Moon in Sagittarius bachelors on, minding his own business, wandering hither and yon; the atmosphere will likely be one of mostly pleasant keeping-to-oneself, with mind and feet busy carrying us forward into adventure. This lasts until about 5 PM PDT on the 30th, when something tickles Sag’s ambitions and/ or Willfulness (and possibly his desire nature!) and he must act (sextile Zeus, trine Mars). The emotions, then, will support making an assertive move without giving it much thought; that thinkin’ cocoon Sag likes to hang out in, where we’ve been mentally all day, didn’t exactly prepare us to do ‘it’–and the result is that we can thrust ourselves into the midst of something that can be way more than we anticipated. Look before you leap would be the admonition for evening Pacific time.

Just after 7 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes the South Node and we get nostalgic. In my experience, few can be as susceptible to a nostalgia-wallow as can a natal Sag Moon, and when the transiting Moon is traversing there we all get a little misty-eyed for what was. Under this influence we can talk ourselves into all kinds of ‘forgot why I left that alone in the first place’–and the last thing we want to do is relive the past. Take real care, as the next aspect is a quincunx to Sedna  (beginning about 9:30 AM PDT May 1st). This can be like taking a memory-loss pill; between the two quincunxes and a sentiment-susceptible Moon, we can get ourselves into a real fix, the kind we suddenly ‘wake up’ from with no idea how we could’ve wandered into such uncharacteristic circumstances.

About 1:30 PM PDT on the 1st the Moon trines Vesta and squares Jupiter, and our slow motion wake-up begins. On the one hand, we feel we’ve been making choices that are totally in line with our most sacred ideals; on the other hand, the social sphere, or our own store of knowledge, tells us that this, whatever it is, is not quite the thing for us. Which to believe, our happy-go-lucky, out of the blue choices, or those things that anchor us and tell us who we are? Hmm.

By 10 PM on the 1st Pacific time something starts to give; the Moon creates a T-square with the Saturn/ Uranus opposition, and sextiles Neptune. This brings a kind of showdown between our future and our past; those who are flexible and able to imagine what comes with going with one side or the other will do best in choosing (don’t worry, it’s just a temporary choice, to help us re-orient ourselves after our atypical weekend).

Void begins at 1:09 AM PDT on the 2nd of May. Moon enters staunch Capricorn at 2:59 AM PDT on the 2nd. Now comes the ‘choice hangover.’

'Real Astrologers', Ceres, Finger of God, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

After a spontaneous two day vacation, I’m back–and what catches my eye? You may be disappointed, as I’m seeing something ‘flavor’ the day that I normally wouldn’t count: a Yod made of an exact Ceres/ Mars quincunx, with Ceres sextile (but to a degree that would usually be about two degrees outside my FOG standard) to Chiron at stressful 29 degrees of Aquarius. Between the anaretic degree for our favorite centaur and the exactitude of the other quincunx I think we have some latitude here–so what does it say?

A wonderful painting of Ceres 'putting her foot down'--this is the lead image in my Ceres article featured in the Spring issue of 'Eclipse' Michele Pannonio 1450 {{PD-Art}}

It tells us the action urge is strong, and that we are feeling the authority, the right, to carry out our Will–but that we must be extremely careful that what we choose to act on is not propelled by the primal wound (and we can find a million ways to rationalize and justify acting that hurt out, if we are not scrupulously honest); instead we must make sure that we utilize our most unique skill, that higher expression of Chiron that can be hard to pinpoint, but the spirit of which must nevertheless permeate our chosen activities today. The Moon in Capricorn has just passed over that soon-to-be perfect conjunction of Pluto and Ceres, and the recent exposure of the unconscious to these two energies will make intuiting our way through the challenge of perpetrating ‘right action’ all the easier.

Also of note: Mercury conjunct Venus, both square Mars, suggests that rational thought, reasoning, relationships, and values may all gang-up and conflict with what we want–and their trine to Ceres says those energies will also feel they have the authority to nix action. This points even more strongly toward the Moon in Cap intuition as the necessary guide to today’s activities.

And have a great one!

2 April 2010: God’s ‘To-Do’ List

April forecast, Ceres, Chiron, Christine N. Davis, Earth, Finger of God, Jude Cowell, My Daily Astrology Diary, Saturn, the Asteroid Zeus, the Magazine, Venus

Let's pretend this is God's to-do list {{PD}} via Wikimedia Commons

Or we could say ‘Universal Mandate,’ like it’s health care (!) but whatever we call it, it may underlie more transitory aspects and add a feeling both fated and stressful–a perfect combination if we’re sailing along, unconscious, to make us act out in some pretty primal, down ‘n dirty ways–so watch for this, as you’re likely to encounter it at least once or twice along the way (I know you, gentle reader, aren’t acting unconsciously–you wouldn’t be here if you were!) The Finger of God of which we speak can be used by the aware to channel reactionary energies into constructive action. Apex Saturn with a base of Mercury conjunct Venus sextile Chiron speaks to actualizing values and some of our most unique and personal talents in service of accomplishment, particularly accomplishment that involves aesthetics and/ or partnership/ relationships. It all may feel precipitous, like we’re just starting out (the 00 placements of Saturn and Mercury) and the wound may compete with those already mentioned talents for use of the energy (Chiron at 29 degrees) but it’s our job to funnel the energies in useful ways–and we can get started, just as soon as the Moon enters Sagittarius (9:52 AM PDT).

We’ve discussed the Moon’s immediate reaction upon changing signs in yesterday’s entry; after that, the day is dominated by the Finger and a couple of other aspects: Venus trine Ceres, and the Earth conjunct Zeus. The former contact brings power to all things Venusian, making us able to achieve in Art, in expressing values, and in expressing love, but here’s where we also must take care, as Ceres can urge us to intrude on the province of others (see my in-depth article in the upcoming spring issue of ‘ECLIPSE’). The latter contact, of Earth and Zeus, simply magnifies material concerns and the materialization of the products of Will and ambition–so expect a big push forward, especially from those who are instituting ‘Big Plans.’ This suggests that any who are acting unconsciously may actually be a bit dangerous, as their need to make their own wants and goals happen may override every other consideration–just make sure you aren’t one of them!

1 April 2010: Sorting It Out, Making It Happen

Astroxa, Earth, Jude Cowell, Moon, Moon in Scorpio, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Asteroid Zeus, the Magazine

Jupiter und Antiope by Franz Anton Maulbertsch 1780

The start of the day, at least for West Coasters, sees the Moon mid-Scorpio, ready to sextile the North Node, then trine Jupiter; that’s offering a surge of energy buoyed by emotion–we can get a lot done, whether we’re inspired or acting out of a need to uncover, find out, push forward that can reach dysfunctional proportions. We shouldn’t thumb our noses at the ‘whys’ behind our actions, though, as the result is the same whether we’re aware of our motivations or not: massive amounts of work well done, a strong sense of having accomplished, and a solid chance to alleviate any guilt we may be carrying (a Scorpio Moon can see us make the most of what we might otherwise consider negative). This influence lasts well into afternoon PDT–use it!

By 4 PM PDT the Moon comes into range of opposing Juno and Sedna, and conjuncting Pallas, and this effect lasts until about 9 PM. The influence is one we literally can’t discern, but that is active nonetheless. The general thrust is that our emotions will offer wise guidance; follow them and we can’t go wrong. The challenge is that we may not know how we feel! The problem will be one of empowerment; we may not recognize what may be empowering to us, may not see the ways others are empowered and how that affects us, and we may come up short as we fail to realize that we are being driven to find a path that makes us feel empowered–and this latter can lead us in the wrong direction, as we seek to feel powerful no matter what; we may also be prone to project problems and the ability to make a difference onto the partner. What we need to recognize is that everyone within the situation is being driven by the same thing, the need to feel they are in charge of their own choices, to be respected, and to feel effective within the scenario presented. Keeping this in mind will help make the energies more conscious and will help us understand what’s behind our own and others’ choices–and that means we can head off trouble at the pass.

Empowerment issues will only be muddled by today’s perfection of the Earth/ Zeus conjunction, which blends the material and the ambitions and Will into one indistinguishable mass. We may invest the physical, possessions, and getting our way with far too much importance, and could easily confuse changes to the material situation with an assault on ourselves. Take a step back from material changes before reacting; the Scorp Moon could easily attach hidden emotional upset about other things to this situation, so remain aware of the possibilities.

By 4 AM on the 2nd the Scorpio Moon is within orb of a square to Neptune and a trine to Uranus, suggesting that, though we can draw deep to make the original move, to create, to educate, we must discern upon what our inspiration is based: ideals, imagination, or delusion? Knowing the difference can make the square of the Moon to Chiron that follows (around 8 AM PDT) a celebration of skills brought forward, rather than a recoiling from hurt over pursuing a mirage. At 29 degrees Chiron is, on the one hand, not fooling around; on the other, though, it can feel like the energy is really doing a number on us, feinting and jabbing, as our own unique primal wound gets repeatedly poked.

The Void begins at 8:21 AM PDT on April 2nd; Moon enters Sagittarius (9:52 AM PDT) and immediately quincunxes Mercury and sextiles Saturn, all at 00 of their respective signs. This can be an awkward combination, as the urge to reach out and commune and communicate is strong but raw–success depends on how much Self-discipline we are willing to apply to the outreach and how much maturity with which we’re willing to invest our communications. Restraint is the ideal.

Health Care Reform, the Magazine, trends

Just popping in to catch up, since lately I’ve been ultra-busy (but who hasn’t?) between visitors and clients, so that I wasn’t able to be part of the big Blog-A-Thon. Great articles will be showing up all over the internet on how to handle the Cardinal T–my blog list should lead you to most if not all of the participants, or check over at ‘Thon central, Donna Cunningham’s Sky Writer http://skywriter.wordpress.com/ Here’s my Saturn/ Pluto view from a while ago https://juliedemboski.wordpress.com/2009/11/02/the-saturn-pluto-square/

The weather’s been perfect (though a little chill) and it lures me out–the night sky has been clear and the stars easily visible, even this close to city lights. I have big garden plans this year, and right now am starting seed indoors, and tending the winter vegetables already planted–and we had a salad from the garden last night! thanks to the mild weather all season. So, that concludes the farm report 🙂

The rest of my time goes toward preparing the Juno book and the Spring issue of ‘Eclipse’  Right now pieces planned for the next issue include an article on Ceres, and a pair of articles on the Sun as identity/ Earth as Material Purpose, more small and amusing bits, and . . . what would you like to read? Let me know what might be of interest–and if you bought the last issue, or are planning on purchasing one in the future, would you like the three-month forecasts to be a regular feature of the magazine?

Will the US pass health care reform, the vote now planned for Sunday the 21st? When I look at the transits for this day, what I see is somewhat contradictory, with the Sun at 1 Aries opposed Saturn at 1 Libra. We might jump to the conclusion that this could mean the whole thing will stall where it stands, with Self-interest and ‘me first’ illuminated, and a lack of willingness to partner solidly opposed with the old man in Libra (and Saturn may represent all those who are just plain scared of change–these typically are the same group that doesn’t know what’s in the bill!) The Moon in Gemini promises talk, but networking talk, not anything that might sway others philosophically–this is the kind of influence that won’t make anyone change camps but may pull fence-sitters into the ‘Aye’ camp, as they’re reminded of who their connections and supporters really are. The Sun will be trine Mars, bolstering the ease with which action can be taken–but in Leo, and we’re back to that concern with Self-interest–but mutual reception breaks the tie, so to speak, making the urge to action that much more appealing. Ceres squares the Sun from Capricorn–our connection to Mother Nature might be mega-practical, a ‘Who needs health care, we’re healthy!’ kind of vibe, a take your vitamins vibe, a close your eyes and hope nothing goes wrong vibe–not encouraging for the bill. Jupiter (society) is in the sign of the Collective (Pisces) and sextile Juno, suggesting that empowerment may be on the menu via society’s consciousness of what’s for the Collective good. Neptune and Chiron are just over one degree apart, perhaps allowing enough distance that those deluded about what really helps or hurts may get a clearer vision of the need for change: Mother Nature can’t do it all (Ceres conjunct Pluto). Vesta square Sedna casts a vote for the ‘Nays’ with an inability to see what’s sacred, and with generous orbs we can draw a Grand Trine from Jupiter to South Node to Pallas–and that bodes well for society learning from the past and accessing accumulated wisdom–but the kicker may be that Neptune is planet of latest degree, signalling that the good of the Collective will ultimately assert itself–and in my view, that says the bill will pass.

17 March 2010: Sorting Will from Want

Aries, Fist of God, Moon, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Asteroid Zeus, the Magazine

North American West Coasters start the day with a pounding (everybody else takes it on the chin, too, it’s just not their morning eye-opener): a Fist of God with Ceres at 29 degrees square the Earth in Virgo and both sesquiquadrate Juno. The exact Venus/ Zeus opposition doesn’t help, and the Aries Moon makes us a wee bit pugnacious. What to do?

This will at least feed stressful feelings, especially unconscious ones (that 29 degree Ceres will chip away at our sense of authority over our own lives, and for those susceptible may make them feel that others are outright taking that Self-authority away); at worst it could suggest real-world confrontations over who’s in charge of what, the kind of fight that pulls out accounting and details (Virgo) in the quest to win the upper hand. If we keep in mind that empowerment (and by that I mean a personal sense that we are effective and have a say) is the need for everyone, then we may deal with flare-ups that much more effectively, as with some effort we’ll find ways for each party to feel they’re of some significance.

Earth and her Moon; thanks, NASA

The Venus/ Zeus clash will for some be the focus energy, and it could come in one of a number of forms: female v. male; the worth of things v. the want for things; assets v. Will (for instance, with gambling or shopping); beauty v. muscle; love v. lust; genuine love v. unmet Daddy needs; and so on (see more on Zeus in action in the mag here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/eclipse-in-depth-astrology-for-the-21st-century/) Everyone will feel some disparity between what’s of value and what we want, and serving both becomes an impossible balancing act (and one the Zeus/ Will side likely wins, with the Moon in Aries) unless we remember two things: the Chiron/ Neptune quincunx to Earth, and the fact that Mars is at 00 Leo. If we can avoid making decisions out of hurt or delusion, and if we can know that our urge to action may be premature or not totally formed or informed (the 00 placement), then we may be willing to take our time–and that alone can bring things into clearer perspective, if we allow Venus the chance to move forward and reveal our desires and illuminate our assets without the pressure of Willfulness and want (Zeus). And the Merc/ Mars trine, with the Trickster at 29 degrees, makes us prone to shoot our mouths off, especially in anger; hold off the cuff assertions until the push to speak passes–even though you may see your thoughts as reflecting an ideal or the common good (Pisces) they won’t come off that way.

So what is it a good day for? Taking Self-responsibility. The Aries Moon squares the Nodal axis (10 AM PDT) and we should be extra-aware that what we do will affect our Path. By 10 PM PDT the Moon has moved into trine with Vesta, and a review of how well our choices have served our core values will be in order, with a quincunx to Pallas giving us the wisdom and guidance to course-correct. By 3:30 AM PDT on the 18th the Moon quincunxes Earth, asking for emotions to accomodate realities, and vice versa, and by 7 AM PDT we see the Moon trine Ceres (matters of authority are clear, a relief after yesterday! though intrusiveness could be a problem) with the Void beginning at 9:08 AM PDT. The Moon enters Taurus at 9:29 AM PDT.

15 March 2010 New Moon: Outbursts of Beauty and Grace

. . . and possibly some sharp words, disturbances to the home situation, and the chance you’ll begin the wisest course you’ve ever chosen. Not bad for a mid-month New Moon in Pisces that just as easily could’ve kicked off a period of feeling drugged out, confused, or steeped in illusion. This time, though, we’ve got influences that leave us attuned and sharp, at least to the degree we’re willing to adjust our approach to our own most sacred ideals (the Vesta aspect).

Dark of the Moon began early afternoon Pacific time on the 12th, ushering in a time for centered calm, withdrawal, retreat, meditation, and appreciation of our world. It’s a time to take a step back and receive what is around us–and if we don’t like what we are surrounded with, then our mandate is to change the environment to something that more closely reflects what we want to be, and to understand that what we are is what we’re seeing–change, improvement, or modification, rather than denial or anger, is the order for this period.

The New Moon arrives at 2:01 PM PDT on the 15th at 25 Pisces 10, and it makes a quincunx to Vesta in Leo, a trine to Pallas in Scorpio, and a conjunction to the exact meeting of Mercury and Uranus right next door (and this will be coming off the Superior Conjunction of Merc and the Sun on the 14th which likely brought illumination, a message, probably through a dream, fantasy or day dream, or through the realization of an ideal or goal (Pisces). This SC is a natural ending to which we must be receptive, rather than a typical Superior Conjunction that brings endings to things we’ve actively planned or worked for. The power of the Universe is displayed in the attractive quality of the energy; let it show you how it works.

But back to the New Moon! The quincunx to Vesta in Leo suggests this is a new beginning in terms of the ego/ identity and what it stands for; we have the chance to adjust ourselves to better fit what we find most sacred, and also the opposite, we have the chance to modify ideals so that they truly reflect who we are. The trine to Pallas promises that wisdom and guidance are ours, whether they have internal or external sources. And the conjunction to Mercury and Uranus says in no uncertain terms, the messages we need to start a fresh lunar cycle will be delivered, possibly with a shock, or through the group, in the natal House where the NM occurs, or in personal lunar matters or the House with Cancer on the cusp.

The Sabian for this New Moon is, ‘Watching the Very Thin Moon Crescent Appearing at Sunset, Different People Realize That the Time Has Come to Go Ahead With Their Different Projects’ http://www.cafeastrology.com/sabiansymbols_degreemeanings.html  This seems to be a way of expressing that new ideas, young concepts (the Thin Crescent Moon) that have just barely coalesced in the mind, are now beginning their creative life–they have leapt to the fore, from amongst a variety of possibilities, to receive the full energy and attention of their creators. This is the most fertile and energized point of creation, when the idea has caught hold of the mind and musters all the force of creative spirit, and the co-operation of the Universe, in order to be made manifest. We should expect outbursts of beauty and grace, if only within our own minds, and should approach with optimism and willingness whatever idea is seeded in us at this time.

They offered an array of unusual goods, to say the least. Unfortunately I missed the rally 😦   And, check out the possibilities implied by this Moon for our country by the excellent Jude Cowell http://www.starsoverwashington.com/2010/03/new-moon-25pisc10-march-15-2010.html
