3 January brings Venus opposed Ceres and quincunx Sedna, with Mercury square Uranus. Talk is risky and no-holds-barred, and could result in real upset. Relationships resist their natural forms, and power becomes an issue where before love was the focus. We reject authority, nature, and even Mom, trying to have our say, to express ourselves–but we just don’t see how this plays out. Good a time as any to pull back–at least that you won’t regret.

Happy New Year 2013!

Though I can’t be certain, this postcard is probably pre-WW I German–the lucky mushrooms give it away!

December 31st brings some kind of energy pile-up, as if all the leftovers for the year are being served today! And this may be how it feels, that it is necessary to deal with many of these influences so that the new year can start with a clean slate–and this is a more accurate perception than we might be willing to credit. For instance, Mercury enters Capricorn and sextiles Neptune, giving us a kind of shiny, optimistic hope for the future that’s grounded in realism, and Earth is sesquiquadrate the North Node while the Sun is sesquiquadrate the South; major efforts today will be put into making a positive material path into the future, while our attention may linger on all that was wrong with ‘What Was’. A useful exercise if we don’t become mired in it.

1 January 2013 is quiet–no, really, it is–with only the Sun quincunx Vesta to ruffle the new year. We’ll probably review what’s really important to us, vow to honor it–the usual pledge–and of course this time we insist we mean it.

4 AM PST the Moon quincunxes Pallas, requiring us to adjust the emotional outlook to what’s smart; we might otherwise have been tempted by a need for attention (Leo Moon) to do something definitely unwise.

Void begins at 5:12 AM PST; the Moon enters Virgo at 9:35 AM Pacific time.

30 December sees the Sun perfect conjunction to Pluto and sextile to Saturn. This may be a secondary point of culmination, when any dangling issues from the Full Moon are trimmed up, bringing either irrevocable change (Pluto) or fitting elements into the already extant reality (Saturn). This may not make many waves, but may be definitive in setting circumstances for some time to come.

December 29th Mercury squares Pallas, making for a grand case of ‘foot in mouth’ disease that will plague even the most innocent of utterances–shhh! The Sun quincunxes Jupiter, highlighting our gaffes and making social awkwardness inescapable. If you can work on your own today, you might really want to.

2:30 PM PST  the Cancer Moon quincunxes Mercury (like we need more proof there’s a problem!) and fills in, if we are okay with it, a Grand Trine with Pallas and the North Node. This suggests that out of all this mis- and disastrous communication comes some wise feeling and a plan for the future. Good!

Void begins 7:27 PM PST; the Moon enters Leo at 11:46 PM PST.

Remember, just convert times given to your time zone; in this case, for instance, the Void begins at 10:27 Eastern–same moment, different numbers.

The Sabian for the Full Moon is, ‘A Group of Rabbits Dressed In Human Clothes Walk As If On Parade’ This may speak of a general circumstance that has been revealed for what it truly is by the Full Moon, specifically of elements of the animal nature that ‘play’ to sophistication and a ‘civilized’ display but that are shown, indeed, to be in reality the instinctive, animal nature, contained and garbed as if it is something it’s not. This may hint at the primal depths that we may touch at this time, and may serve to re-connect us with both our instincts and the ways we can successfully contain and use these in social interaction. We come out the ‘other side’ of this Full Moon both significantly healed and significantly enlightened as to our own depths, with a ‘new’ and more advanced way of dealing with hurt, strife, and sadness.

Niagara, The Table Rock in Winter c1847 by Gignoux {{PD-Art}}

Niagara, The Table Rock in Winter c1847 by Gignoux {{PD-Art}}

The 19th of December brings wise action (Mars sextile Pallas) and sudden developments in finances or relationships (Venus trine Uranus)–so what could go wrong? If we’re going after ambitions and desires and not being honest, fact-oriented, and genuine in the process, we could just blow it all up. The mix of influences says things could be really really good, or could go to hell, and it’s pretty much under our own control–but if we are wedded to illusion or fantasy, busy deluding ourselves, or busy hiding the truth from others, we are in for a wallop–and we can conclude, if things don’t go well, that we have been dodging reality in some way–and we’d do well to find out just how that’s been happening.

December 20th 7 AM PST the Moon conjuncts Uranus, making for shocks or surprises of our own making–really! By 9 AM PST the Moon trines Venus and semi-sextiles Chiron; we are easily injured in matters of love or money, but a willingness to be Self-responsible turns this period into one that can be profitable and very enjoyable, though don’t expect anything permanent to come out of this.

December 17th sees our Messenger-Hero Mercury opposed Jupiter; it’s David and Goliath, in information terms, but know this: the Mercury side of things is truly informed, while the Jupiter side has the approval of the social sphere and a way to get the word out widely, yet may feature gossip or innuendo next to (or mixed in with) the real scoop.

Cascades_d'Ouzoud

For Saturday 15 December 2012:

2 AM PST the Capricorn Moon forms the base of a Finger of God with the North Node, apex Earth. This suggests that emotions will translate smoothly into life direction, which will have a direct impact on the material situation. This could be a ‘feel it and it happens’ aspect; or rather, a ‘feel it and it changes our efforts, which impact our material circumstances’. Doesn’t flow as well, but means exactly the same thing. 4 AM PST the Moon sextiles Pallas, infusing the feelings with wisdom (and probably a good dose of patience, too).  Noon Pacific time the Moon sextiles Venus in the 29th degree of Scorpio. This stresses relationships and/ or finances, where we are likely to worry there’s something we don’t know about one or the other. The answer to this may actually precede this contact, at around 11 AM PST when the Moon captures Juno at the midpoint of Moon-Venus. This might show us exactly where our real empowerment status and options lie–and the lesson we should take from this is that it’s easy to forget what we know, when something dear (relationships, funds, assets, our Art) comes under stress.

And for Sunday the 16th:

2 AM of the 16th the Aquarian Moon becomes part of a cascade effect, by squaring Saturn, sextiling Mercury, and semi-sextiling Pluto–which arrangement of course catches Merc at the Saturn-Pluto midpoint. The effect may be one where each of us only sees a portion of the chain–one person experiences repression of emotion (Moon sq Saturn) communicates that (Merc) to another, who perceives it as a destructive or deliberately harmful confession (Pluto), for instance, or where transformative emotions (Moon-Pluto) are not communicated to a father-figure or authority (Saturn-Merc) or where those emotions allow one to break the rules (Saturn-Pluto), for another example.

December 12th the big news is Venus conjunct the North Node. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for some it will make for a definitive moment concerning values, wealth, or relationships. Direction in one or more of these areas will be set. Look to the House where this occurs in your chart, as well as any aspects it makes (from 25 Scorpio)in order to know the possible impact.

New Moon occurs December 13th at 12:41 AM PST at 21 Sagittarius 44

The New Moon squares Pallas and quincunxes Sedna, making no other aspects under a three degree orb, though we might consider a semi-square to Saturn, as this could be a wise choice, giving us our ‘doorway’ into reality for NM energies. Sag is about knowledge and the sharing of such, and in square to the symbol of wisdom and practical skills, and quincunx the ‘blind spot’ of the chart, it could signal a point when what is ‘born’ with the NM energy is something decidedly unwise, a parcel of misinformation (as it doesn’t seem deliberately malicious) that affects our reality situation, possibly through putting up unwarranted barriers, slowing or stopping progress, or repressing some element that was on its way to expression. This is so very contradictory to the typical NM scenario, where we are seeing the initiation of something much more positive, that it’s difficult to believe that a New Moon may leave us in such a problem state–but there it is. The worst thing is we will not realize that what we’re deal with is an unwise viewpoint–and of course that’s where all the danger lies.

From the current ECLIPSE:

December 11th sees Mercury square Neptune and semi-square Zeus. This is the result of yesterday’s stressful, secret-bound, and ‘Truth-y’ communications: we are all having difficulty with being lied to or deceived, with sorting fact from fiction, and with communicating our creative urge. A big part of why is the intrusion of ambitions and desires; with Zeus still in Libra, we may be counting too much on co-operation and the largesse of others to make things happen, hence our vulnerability to illusion and delusion. A vow to be honest with ourselves is a good start, as is a fondness for the verifiable and for what we can hold in our hands.
