A little something for 13 April, from ECLIPSE–to see it all, please subscribe:

Originality, innovative abilities, and our unique viewpoint provide us with ways to express ourselves and our ideas, and these expressions lead us in the direction of raising our status or our effectiveness in dealing with life matters. We will run up against some solid obstacles to advancement; the advantage today is that difficulties won’t morph and grow three heads before our eyes. Communications clear up (but not until late in the day, see below) and we say what we mean and mean what we say–keep in mind this is true for everyone else, as well. (Uranus sextile Juno, Saturn square Juno, Mercury enters Aries)

3 AM PDT the Taurus Moon sextiles Mercury. At this point communications are still tense, obfuscation may be rampant, and even our own thoughts are unclear–this is the apex point for misunderstandings–try to delay major interactions and messages until Merc enters Aries. Void begins at 5:31 AM Pacific time; the Moon enters Gemini at 7:13 AM PDT. 3 PM PDT the Moon squares Neptune, making for an emotionally jarring time, where we either find out the shortcomings of our creative endeavors or we ‘get the message’ concerning the real situation behind something we’d known only through our own assumptions and imaginings. This gives us the emotional fuel to correct anything that comes forward at this time. In the 7 PM hour Pacific time Merc enters Aries–thoughts and intentions become one-pointed, and in some, aggressive and/ or formidable.

And for the 14th:

The only new aspect formed is a semi-square of Venus to Jupiter–that couldn’t hurt much, right? Well, what’s your definition of ‘hurt’? If you mean there’s a cost to being part of the social sphere or to going after what you want in society, if you mean relationship details ought not go public in a passive-aggressive display of dominance, or if you believe earnings might not be commensurate with the impact of your knowledge or material shared with the community, then yes, there’ll be some hurtin’ today. Take it as a blessing, because you’re finding out the details of your actual relationship with the social sphere, and the better you understand how you fit in, the better you can plan how to make an even bigger, more meaningful, and much more rewarding, splash.

Here are a few bits ‘n pieces from the current ECLIPSE; order now to receive much more, Weekly or Daily! Includes your personal Solar Return Glimpse Ahead for 6 Month subscribers!

23 March sees contradictory energies prominent: on the one hand, the social circle tries to buck tradition, expansion meets barriers, and broadcasting meets censorship, but individuals, especially those with Fire sign Suns, feel empowered, and this is in spite of a sense that serious adjustment must be made to the life Path (Jupiter quincunx Saturn, Sun sextile Juno and sesquiquadrate the North Node). It must be noted that material matters will be the best guide to empowerment at this time for all Sun signs; don’t take it for granted or go on faith, instead take physical facts and material realities to heart–the only way to get where we want to go is to know where we’re starting from.

24 March Void begins 3:45 AM PDT; the Moon enters Virgo at 8:50 AM PDT.  2 PM PDT the Moon forms a Finger of God with base of Venus-Juno with Neptune at the base midpoint, and of course apex Moon. This looks to me like an incredibly fertile time for creative endeavors of any kind, including earning, innovating, and the Arts, and all steps taken at this time will be both empowering and satisfying.

25 March we may divide into two camps: the Satisfied and the Frustrated. I’ll bet you already know which camp you’ll be planting your bedroll in. The satisfied group will act effectively, be optimistic and pleasant, and make good progress, while the frustrated group will have a problem only because they will push push push with their egos and find a lack of co-operation available and most avenues to go forward cut off. In addition, those in authority may hassle you. Eliminate the insistent and Self-absorbed cries of the ego, and you too can be in the Satisfied Club. I’ll see you there! (Venus sextile Juno, Mars quincunx Saturn).

3 March: the Moon enters Sagittarius at 1:11 PM PST; at 6 PM PST the Moon squares Neptune, bringing conflict over some delusion we accept as real, some fantasy we insist on being attached to, or with creative activity, which seems to contradict our feelings about what our creative output should be.

4 March the Inferior Conjunction (the meeting of retro Mercury and the Sun) heralds conflicts, unexpected costs, and circumstances that offend those things we hold sacred.  1 AM the Sagittarius Moon squares Venus and trines Uranus. Relationships suffer from a too-independent attitude or from simple rebelliousness. Costs of contrariness or insistence on being unique are serious and far-reaching. Allow others their freedom, even if it feels wrong, and channel individual expression so that it finds a productive and useful outlet. 8 AM PST Luna tucks herself into the midpoint between Pluto and Saturn. We are emotionally struck by changes to the structures and organization of our lives, and may experience some intense feelings of aloneness and fears of destruction or restriction under coming conditions. It should be reassuring that there is nothing we can do about these changes, and that they have been going on for some time, it’s just that right now circumstances allow us to really feel them happening (or maybe we should say, we are only feeling them, with the mental faculties completely out of the way, and that makes the emotional reactions seem so much more potent). Try not to make any decisions based on the emotions at this time.

And now, a few bits from ECLIPSE:

24 February Pallas opposes h.Zeus and the Earth quincunxes Uranus. The tone may be one of fighting what we really want, insisting that the material encourages all the ‘wrong’ things in us, and persisting with the notion that smart money will be anywhere but invested in those things we want. Where did we get this nonsense? This may be a result of the soon-to-be conjunct Mercury retro-Mars meet-up in Pisces; the two of them get together in the sign of the Collective and convince us that the only possible acceptable response to things is to deny the individual Will in favor of some Cosmic ‘what the Collective needs’, and with our mental faculties tied up in knots, we may accept these notions as correct ones. Instead what we might do is consider how truly wise our ambitions really are, and whether they are attainable in this world by ourselves as the individuals we are. May bring forward a startling ‘discovery’ or two, and gives us a fresh lay of the land for the Merc retro period.

25 February Venus enters Pisces later in the day (somewhere between 6 and 7 PM Pacific time), but until she does, she sits in 29 hellacious degrees of Aquarius, stressing the intellect with all the jealousy, envy, wish-listing, want, appetite, and insistence on having relationship (even if the other party doesn’t want to) that can make a goddess cry. Finances, too, take a beating, as Venus is oh-so-likely to believe she can buy her way out of anything (or toward happiness). Ignore the tantrum-throwing child inside you, leaving all Venusian matters to which we might want to make changes as they are, for now.

Full Moon occurs on the 25th at 12:25 PM PST at 7 Virgo 23

Though we see old wounds clearly (Sun moving to conjunct Chiron) we are done with these; accounts are closed, criticism put to bed. Now reflected, positive light (the loving support and feedback of others) encourages development of and use of new talents and skills. These will change the view of one’s own individuality; what we saw as uniquely ‘us’ will have to change, as will our relationship to the social circle. Though Full Moons represent endings (to the old hurts we spoke of earlier), this one will also represent a beginning, as the shift in abilities exhibited, change to the Self-image, and the adjustments to interaction with (and probably status within) the group mark the start of a ‘new’ Self, possibly with a new role.

On Mercury Retrograde:

One constant for the period is that, with the Mercurial functions effectively ‘scrambled’, we must rely on feeling, sensing, and the intuitive (primarily Venus, and secondarily, the Moon) in order to function effectively and receive accurate ideas on how to proceed. These senses don’t replace Mercury–for most of us they only act during direct times to enhance our minds–but during a retro we must be more willing than usual to accept information we receive through the feeling function as valid and accurate, if only to keep us from sailing blindly off a cliff! We can look to our natal Venus for clues as to how best to approach things, for instance, looking for an ‘original spark’ to guide us with Venus in Aquarius, or directly using the emotions and intuition as a sensor with Venus in Cancer, or using assessments like appeal and appetite to reveal info with Venus in Taurus.

And on aspects for the 22nd:

For the 22nd of February only one, slight aspect forms: Venus moves semi-square Pluto–but oh, for those sensitive to the mixing of Love and Power, relationships and rage, beauty and, well, ugliness (though let’s say right up front that there’s a lot subjectivity in assessing those), this could be like walking in tender, bare feet on jagged glass, sort of a thing where you think, oh I can make it across fast, and then find that not only is the pain unbearable and the glass cutting remarkably deep, but the expected glassless right-over-there is nowhere in sight. It’s not a pretty picture but it is an understandable one, if we realize that the coolness with which Venus in Aquarius approaches a passionate subject may be the trigger to some roiling anger long contained and now released. Pluto dissolves the container itself, and what remains is the understanding (Aquarius) of what Love and relationship really are.

For the 23rd:

2 AM PST brings a trine of the Leo Moon to Uranus, promising sudden emotional revelations or spontaneous revolution! Surprises abound. 4 AM PST the Moon sextiles Jupiter, exaggerating the effects of whatever Lunar contact to Uranus brought up. Proceed with care, because what’s going on now can easily go public. 7 AM PST the Moon quincunxes Chiron and forms the apex to a Finger of God with base of Chiron-Pluto. This ushers in circumstances that allow us to easily rid ourselves of old hurt, with a very positive emotional payoff should we let go of our wounds. If not, we can expect a blow-up that may add to our scar tissue, and create some significant new barriers in relationships.

Your Weekend ECLIPSE Sampler: ‘Saturn, Unicorns & A Taste of the Forecast’

'Reading by the Shore' Charles Sprague Pearce 1883-85 {{PD-Art}}

‘Reading by the Shore’ Charles Sprague Pearce 1883-85 {{PD-Art}}

For Friday the 15th:

6 PM PST the Taurus Moon sextiles Chiron, offering us some healing energy–or some very useful knowledge. 10 PM PST the Moon trines Pluto, making emotional purging very easy–just try to do it in a positive way. Can be very comforting, getting rid of the dross. Midnight the Moon opposes Saturn and sextiles Mars, suggesting we may find ourselves lacking in emotional restraint, and acting on our impulses. If that previous emotional housecleaning went well, the witching hour could find us taking action on something long delayed, put off, or denied–and it sure will feel good. If we resisted letting go of ‘old’, outdated emotional views and reactions, we may act in a way that’s simply contrary to our usual discipline–with poor or mixed results.

For the 16th:

10 AM PST the Moon sextiles Mercury, opening the emotional spigot and spilling all that we have to communicate. Take necessary pre-cautions should you find yourself in inhospitable territory. 2 PM the Moon squares Venus, bringing sudden confrontation in relationship, financial worries, or some distinct discomfort. Addressing the problem with the intellect (Aquarius), rather than through material perceptions (Taurus) is likely the answer.6 PM PST the Moon conjuncts the South Node and semi-sextiles Ceres. Nostalgia and a trip down memory lane may end up empowering us, as we review the role authorities used to play, the way Mom used to be in charge, or the way we used to have to negotiate for what now we can just take when we want it.

For the 17th:

Noon Pacific time the Moon makes her final aspect in Taurus, a T-square to the Sun-Earth axis; all are at 29 degrees. Tension may be what we’re breathing and eating at this point. Again, don’t let emotions push you into life or circumstance changes you don’t want–we’re certainly in no position to judge ‘new moves’ today.

Void begins at 12:31 PM PST; the Moon enters Gemini at 1:50 PM PST.

And on the 18th:

February 18th is an active and somewhat difficult day. It may feel as if the atmosphere is shifting, and it is, as the Sun enters Pisces and the Earth enters Virgo; this change highlights discrepancies between our life direction and our ambitions, goals, and desires (Sun sesquiquadrate Zeus). We also have Venus square the Nodal axis, stressing relationships and/ or finances. DO NOT PANIC. View it all as simply informational; NOTHING needs to change at this moment–but if it does, those in authority give needed assistance (Venus trine Ceres).

From the article ‘Saturn Retro, Relief and Personal Review’:

We may actually perceive this retro of the Old Man as a relief; Saturn turns around on the 18th at 9:02 AM PST at 11 Scorpio 31, and the result might be a lifting of the ‘rip-tide effect’: contradictions drop away, with all info/ circumstances ‘flowing’ in one direction (or that things are subtly withdrawn or shut down), OR we see the sublimation of everything, and find ourselves with a sense that there are no restrictions or withdrawals, but also with no ‘real’ material with which to deal, argue with, or grab on to–and this latter condition might include some roiling emotions (Scorpio).

From the article ‘What’s Your Unicorn? Finding Energy Wasters in the Chart and the Life’:

Unicorn status isn’t for those things we can work toward and achieve; we reserve this fantastical designation for those things that we are more invested in idealizing and identifying through than actually attaining. What’s distinctive about a unicorn is the way in which we don’t, in any significant sense, try to make this ideal a reality, and yet we may spend a great deal of time talking and thinking about it, fantasizing about it, and letting others know that we have a personal connection to it, and so using it as a personal identifier. We may tell everyone that we hope to catch our unicorn one day–but what makes it a unicorn is the way we make sure we will never make significant steps to capture it and ‘make it real’.

This is just a sampling from the current issue of ECLIPSE—order to see it all! The Orion Nebula--Thanks, NASA!

The Orion Nebula–Thanks, NASA!

The New Moon in Aquarius occurs at 11:20 PM PST at 21 Aquarius 43 and squares the Nodal axis, along with Sedna (which is conjunct the SN), and quincunxes Ceres–and that’s all (according to our strict 2 or so degree allowed orb). This suggests that what is conceived at the NM is something we are unaware of, which will speak of the depths of our individuality (Sedna), that will figure in to determining our life course (Nodes), and which will be dictated by our nature, specifically by the Ceres traits expressed by the power we hold, the influence we exercise, our relationships to those for whom we are responsible, the function of negotiation, and our natural environment, to include our own role as a Being within Nature.

We do know it will begin something–and this something will start a ‘learning curve’ for us that will play out in a way that re-defines our sense of power, our influence, our reach, and some of our relationships, with all of it speaking very specifically to us as unique individuals.

For the rest of the New Moon report, including info on what areas of life it will apply to for you according to where it falls in your natal chart, order ECLIPSE Weekly Aspect Digest–it’s all in the current Valentine Issue!

On 3 February at 1 PM PST the Scorpio Moon quincunxes Ceres, requiring we adjust our emotional attitude to the demands of authorities or Mom–negotiation may be needed, to smooth things out. 6 PM PST sees the Moon conjunct the North Node and opposed Sedna. We may be lost at this point, and trying to use intuition or feeling as a life compass; this will be ineffective, and could blunt our faith in our own intuitive abilities if we persist. Instead accept that transmissions are down, and sit tight.

Venus will have her way with us, because we care. ‘Gilded Cage’ by George Hare pre-1933 {{PD-Art}}

A little something to launch your weekend, from the pages of the new ECLIPSE:

Mars enters Pisces and Venus enters Aquarius, while Mercury squares Sedna. The effect may be disorienting; suddenly the aggressive back off, the Self-involved adopt altruism, or the Self-possessed go after the dream–Venus and Mars are dancing beside each other (a semi-sextile) rather than together–a switch from the way they both seemed to have everyone and everything under an intellectual, judgmental microscope. Venus removes the leg irons that had us chained to the work table, only to replace them with dainty handcuffs that hold us in the classroom, the library, in thrall to the group, or force us into the revolution. We find our place in the action, either being in the avant garde, stirring up Molotov cocktails (kids, you know these are explosives, right?) or with the intellect firing on all cylinders (and possibly paying off handsomely). Action, as long as it’s fueled by a dream, a dreamy idealism, or the Collective (which, mind you, can be mindless!) will come with just a little effort–and could lead to confusion, if we don’t keep the values, relationships, and earning needs in sharp focus through the intellect. Communications are off the hook and totally unconscious in their content (no matter how consciously one applies one’s reasoning abilities or intelligence)–you have been warned.

See much more–subscribe!

Just a Taste of ECLIPSE, for Your Week-End 25-28 January 2013

'Tea and Cakes' Anker 1873 {{PD-Art}}

‘Tea and Cakes’ Anker 1873 {{PD-Art}}

25 January We reach out but relationships are difficult (or at least require some conciliation, before we can really commune) and if we are expecting material or monetary rewards conferred by the social scene they won’t be forthcoming right now (Venus sesquiquadrate Jupiter)–BUT, and this is a really big one, we can gain an enormous amount of support and approval for the way we ‘shine’ , and that can result in significant rewards down the road (Sun trine Jupiter). This is the Sun’s pre-direction trine, and it offers a glimpse of what will be coming to us in the pay-off department with Jupiter’s direction and movement forward.

And from the Full Moon report for the 26th:

January Full Moon in Leo occurs at 8:38 PM PST of the 26th at 7 Leo 24: ‘Revolutionary Ideals’

We also look at the Sun’s Sabian to complete our Full Moon picture: ‘Beautifully Gowned Wax Figures on Display’. This is, in a psychic sense, what the Full Moon symbol is opposed to–in some respect likely related to the House matters in the natal chart where the Full Moon falls, or across the axis where the Sun-Moon opposition falls; we are bringing about a revolution by activating this ideal, and it means a moving away from a static, though acceptable, even lovely, stance we held up to this point in time in a very public way. Some pose or stance previously ‘on display’ will be replaced by a true, inner ideal, which will find an active (‘living’) outlet in the life.

January 27th sees Venus trine the South Node; this may result in an unconscious, gentle vortex (is there such a thing?) involving the past and either relationships or finances (you’ll know which by whatever one has given you a hard-line, Capricorn smackdown somewhere in your life history). You may find yourself sucked into a less-than-productive (or accurate) musing on the whole issue, and possibly squander a present-day offering of love or money in the process.

January 28th Mercury trine Zeus, and Uranus conjunct Pallas: these tell us the mind will be tuned like a laser to our deepest desires and ambitions–and so will automatically make decisions that lead us in this direction. Uranus-Pallas fires up our own sense of surety and unites inner wisdom with originality, innovation, and the spark of creative improvisation, and can take us a long way, if we let it. This will be an amazing day, for those who are able to let themselves be themselves–not as easy as it sounds.

This is just a sampling from ECLIPSE, the by-subscription Weekly newsletter that offers detailed forecasts, including hour-by-hour Lunar aspects, articles on theory and practice, and much more! Subscribers are what keeps it all going–Thank you to my new ECLIPSE readers, and an extra big Thank you to my regulars–your consistent support makes the blog, and the publication, possible!
