From the current ECLIPSE:

December 11th sees Mercury square Neptune and semi-square Zeus. This is the result of yesterday’s stressful, secret-bound, and ‘Truth-y’ communications: we are all having difficulty with being lied to or deceived, with sorting fact from fiction, and with communicating our creative urge. A big part of why is the intrusion of ambitions and desires; with Zeus still in Libra, we may be counting too much on co-operation and the largesse of others to make things happen, hence our vulnerability to illusion and delusion. A vow to be honest with ourselves is a good start, as is a fondness for the verifiable and for what we can hold in our hands.

From the current ECLIPSE, available by subscription:

4 PM of the 8th, Pacific time, there’s a trine of the Libra Moon to the Earth-Vesta conjunction. The effect could be rash action, or choices that go against the emotional grain, that result in a solid, material embodiment of our highest values, or the dedication we have to home and mate. Interesting to inspect those results, as they will tell us what we’re really honoring.

The 9th of December we’re back to familiar upsets and clashes, some of which may arrive in new garb (and so not immediately be recognized as old hat). Mars quincunxes Vesta while Earth conjuncts her and the Sun opposes her; our actions and choices will need to be adjusted, if we’re to take what we consider sacred seriously; it will be obvious what needs to change materially, too, in order to comply with those highest, best values.

Void begins at 11:55 AM Pacific time; the Moon enters Scorpio at 1:51 PM PST on 9 December.

The Moon immediately trines Neptune, starting us off on the journey through Scorpio with a strong dose of intuition, creativity, and/ or easy delusion accepted without even realizing it. Attune to the emotions and feel the creative and spiritual flow.

On December 10th we tell it like it is, with Merc moving into Sagittarius very late in the day, Pacific time–disputes come from varying ideas of ‘Truth’, varying philosophies, or varying information or knowledge levels, and with Merc’s position in 29 degrees Scorpio through most of the day, secrets and hidden matters causing stress or exploded into the light could be the fuel for much communication upset–and a really unusual dynamic accompanies this: Venus opposes Sedna, semi-squares Pluto, and trines Pallas, making for some serious decision-making that may be preternaturally wise even as it’s unconscious, guided from the depths of our Being!

Your Weekend 2-4 November 2012: ‘Against the Tide’ + Get Your Eclipse Report!

‘Oarsmen Rowing on the Yerres’ G. Caillebotte c1878 {{PD-Art}}

Currently we’re looking at a Void now through 12:44 AM PDT tomorrow, November 3rd; Voids typically play out in weird combinations of short-circuited efforts, ennui, low energy, false starts, and sometimes the unanticipated outcome or opportunity. Today seems right on target as I wander listlessly from room to room. Thank goodness it all perks up tomorrow with the Moon’s entry into Cancer, if only by giving us a definite lens through which to inspect our surroundings. As I said in ECLIPSE:

Upon entry of the Moon into Cancer at 12:44 AM PDT of the 3rd, a trine is formed with Neptune that may set the tone for the entire transit of this, the Moon’s own sign. Events may be interpreted through an emotional lens that features fantasy, imagined circumstances, ideals, and/ or deceptions accepted as fact, and confusion is as likely an emotional ‘outlook’ as is taking a creative and imaginative tack with the day. It’s your choice, but then again, it may be rowing against the tide to try and stay super-grounded at this point. Try to channel Neptune’s seminal influence (seminal as it informs the Moon’s transit of the entire sign of Cancer) into some area where you can put creativity fueled by emotions to good use.

And for Sunday the 4th:

November 4th sees Saturn perfect his trine to Ceres and Venus reach sesquiquadrate to Sedna. We may feel a challenging atmosphere surrounding the gentle, receptive, relationship-keyed energies, as well as around those natural powers that are distinctly female; the difficulty may be that either some harder-edged inclination wants to tame, restrict, or contain these influences, or that, especially in the case of a female herself, these influences may simply be ‘forgotten’, for a time. How you react may all depend on your own balance of Saturn (reality-keyed, fixed, rigid, serious and stolid, constructive and constrictive energy) and Venus (relationship and asset-keyed, playful, desiring and affectionate, luxury-loving, jealous and teasing, receptive and symbolically soft and fluid).

I am doing a limited number of Eclipse Reports keyed to the upcoming November eclipses as they affect the individual natal chart. This is a report that zeroes in on what the eclipses might bring forward in your life over the next six months (through to the next eclipse set). Eclipses seem to elaborate themes that manifest through each individual differently, and the chart can be a helpful guide to where in life these will show and how we might best handle them. These reports are delivered by email in PDF form and will look at the ways the eclipse energies ‘light up’ the natal scenario; ideally, the report highlights the issues that will be most prominent for you, and will offer some commentary on other major transits in force at the time that may influence eclipse effects. These are not complete natal assessments, nor are they meant to answer current life questions (though they might, considering the impact eclipses can have)–instead they look at a temporary effect, like an electrical current sent surging through a circuit–until the current is re-directed six months later. That means the reports talk about targeted areas of your chart, with everything written by me personally–no computer generated material is used–but that also means that I get to the point, so if you’re looking for length or excessive verbiage (though I’m certainly capable of it!) these are not typically part of the package. Write me at my name at hotmail.com to inquire about availability–please understand that spaces may go quickly so that I cannot guarantee how long they will be available–cost is $55 for non-subscribers, for paid subscribers it’s $35 (Please, send no money until you’ve contacted me–I will bill you). Please be patient as I answer mail and set up appointments–you will be notified quickly if no space is available, and I will post here as soon as spaces are filled. And if you’d rather get the general eclipse outlook for the first event (the New Moon eclipse of 13 November), plus the detailed daily forecast and more, it’s already available, subscribe now!

Thank You Everyone! All spots are taken–

On the Sabian for the Taurus Full Moon of 29 October 2012: ‘Never Thirst Again’

‘Well, Millstone, and Cistern Under Trees’ Cezanne c1870 {{PD-Art}}

The Full Moon arrives at 12:48PM PDT of the 29th at 6 Taurus 47.Ā Commentary on the meaning of the Full Moon is from the latest issue of ECLIPSE; this particular excerpt discusses the Sabian symbol for the meeting of Moon and Earth:

The Sabian for the Full Moon is, ‘The Woman of Samaria at the Ancestral Well’. In the New Testament of the Bible, this is the woman who goes to the well as Jesus sits near it, and since he has no equipment with which to reach into the well and pull up water, he asks her for a drink. Apparently this surprises her, as the Jews and the Samaritans did not at that time interact; they begin a conversation, where Jesus talks of the power of knowing God as water, and famously tells her that if she drinks from the well, she’ll be thirsty again, while if she drinks in the spiritual sense, she’ll never thirst again. It’s notable, though, that she’s only convinced that Jesus knows what he’s talking about when he speaks of her 5 previous husbands, and that she lives now with a man she’s not married to–then she declares Jesus a prophet. She knows of the prophecy of the Messiah who will be called the Christ, and Jesus declares himself to be this figure. The suggestion may be that in some way we are, at this Full Moon, the woman of Samaria in spirit, lead to spiritual enlightenment (and this is not specifically a Christian enlightenment–I’m simply playing off the symbol and the story) by someone we would not usually encounter or have an exchange with, who ‘sees’ into us in a way we don’t think is possible, and who in some way acts as a spiritual example for us.

Just a Little AstroEssence for 24-25 September 2012: ‘Empowerment: What it Looks Like, How to Get It’

Ā

‘Two Geisha Girls’ EA Hornel 1894 {{PD-Art}}

The 24th of September the Sun sextiles Juno and Earth conjuncts Pallas. These are highly positive, offering a spotlight that points out exactly what our empowerment should look like, and how to get it, while wisdom is found in the messages contained in our surroundings, and in skillful employment of material assets at our disposal. Can be a big day, one that can ‘set us up’ positively for some time to come. While on the 25th . . .

. . . Mercury conjuncts Zeus–we are confident and express ambitions and desires well, at this time–which only raises our chances of having them fulfilled. A few warnings: Venus sesquiquadrates Uranus–though spontaneous changes can come to relationships or finances, it’s best not to push; and Mars is semi-square Pluto, priming the temper pump, in a way that will probably take victims (both expressers and targets) by surprise.

Just a Little AstroEssence for Your Weekend 21-23 September 2012: ‘It All Feels a Little ‘Alice”

‘A Mad Tea Party’ One of a series of brilliant illustrations Arthur Rackham 1907 {{PD}}

The 21st of September is a rough day for successful communication: Mercury sesquiquadrates Sedna, suggesting that much of what’s communicated is done without any awareness of what’s truly shared, and the Sun-Earth axis creates a T-square with Ceres, making for an ongoing atmosphere of tension between those who believe they should hold power and command, and the material reality, ‘what is’.

On the 22nd:

Void begins at 11:07 AM PDT; the Moon enters Capricorn at 12:21 PM PDT.

Immediately the Moon creates a T-square with the Sun-Earth axis and sextiles Neptune. We could feel put on the spot, facing a bit of a crisis, and creativity, imagination, or some careful dissembling (not lying, exactly, more like diplomatically avoiding the hard-line Capricorn reality) may be the way out. Keep in mind that just because someone applies pressure, it doesn’t mean we are under some kind of obligation to respond to it.

And the 23rd promises:

The Sun in Libra wants to co-operate, to shine a light on what may be deceptive, hidden in fog, mysterious, illusive, imaginative, creative, dreamlike–and Neptune will have none of it, pulling his Piscean curtain of fog and mirrors and video installations and shimmery, shiny things even tighter. This may feel like, hard as we try to see the facts, the ‘Truth’, or how to assemble the creative alternative, we may be left with little concrete or understandable to grasp. It all may feel a little ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

Awards, Resources

Though I’ve been mostly away from the internet these last couple of weeks, I had to come back to thank Jo TraceyĀ for nominating me forĀ The Very Inspiring Blogger Award. She actually tagged me from her newish site, And AnywaysĀ that covers all her non-astro adventures. Do check it out–she’s got a great eye and shares her photos, food exploits, and much more–so thank you, Jo! And on to the rules (because these thingsĀ always have rules). Personally, I won’t hold any of my nominees to list publishing or Soul-baring–that’s up to them. So, I’ll call them ‘the suggestions’–and they are:

  1. Display the award logo on your blog
  2. Link back to the person who nominated you (that would be you Jo…)
  3. State 7 things about yourself
  4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award and link to them
  5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the awards requirements.

1) When I was younger I seemed to be tall–now I seem short–what happened? Ā 2) I love to read 3) I don’t sleep as much as I need or would like to–I’m too afraid I’ll miss something 4) I love to cook 5) I’ve actually, literally, skinned a cat (for anatomy class–before that I thought it was just a saying, that there’s more than one way!) 6) I studied midwifery; the first baby I caught was named Gustavo–he should be 32 by now 7) I love to garden

Bloggers whose work I admire, in no special order:

1. I’ve got to start with Jo–and her new blog–she has a light touch and shares her interests, excellent photos, and thoughts in a way that’s almost like taking a break when you read it–and my Pisces Moon loves an escape!

2. There’s another blog from one of my astro friends that should be mentioned, Two Hours You’ll Never Get BackĀ by Jude Cowell–a lovely and thought-provoking diversion with a touch of humor.

3. wildmonkeysectsĀ Ā makes occasional, sharp-witted observation of the world–what more could you want?

4. When looking to identify the planets in the sky, I love the highly informative Naked Eye PlanetsĀ  This site should answer most of your astronomy questions, and quite a few about the lore behind the major bodies

5. Deb’s Tarot GoodnessĀ a succinct, no-nonsense take on the upcoming week through Tarot

6. Her Halcyon PhaseĀ has an engaging, righteous (and I mean that in a good way), thought-provoking energy

7. Shannon FoodĀ is a meditation on what the earth produces, what we can do with it, and what it means to us, written by a true Chef of the heart

8.Ā Ā The Oculus Divinorum’s The Feral TarotĀ can be appreciated by anyone into the Art of the Cards–part resource, part exploration, always interesting

9. The Mirror of AphroditeĀ offers a take on relationships and our behavior in them that is both exciting and full of common sense

10. An astute and very intriguing take on spirituality, paganism, and autism can be found at The Other Side

11. A discussion of science fiction, fantasy, and Art that focuses on the way we see and interpret these: These Other Realms

12. Exploring the human condition through thought, and sometimes astrology, Learning Curve on the Ecliptic

13. Peter Stockinger’s Traditional Astrology WeblogĀ is an excellent resource for all things traditional and horary

14. Shifting Realities by Verena Heinrich offers concentrated astro assessment with lots of detail

and finally, 15. A Question of Mindfulness offers first-person experience and spiritual insight in a thoughtful, considered way

I’ll be back with 2-3x per week postings in just a few days–if you want to get it all, please subscribe to ECLIPSE; the upcoming issue, due out Thursday evening PDT, offers the detailed aspect and Lunar forecast for the week, and will come with a free booklet, Ā 2012 The Elevation of Chiron–all current subscribers will receive this, as will anyone who orders by 30 August 2012.

A little something from ECLIPSE about your day:

On the 25th communication gets a hot wire up its a**, with enlivening, and possibly calamitous, results, and the Sun sextiles the South Node, for some pointing out that the current situation is a replica of something that came before, while for others it shines a light on how to handle that communication live wire.

Just a Little Astro Essence on Venus in the Natal Chart

‘A Breezy Day’ CC Curran 1887 {{PD-Art}}

Venus, of course, makes her presence felt by House at least twice in the natal chart, once in her rulership of Taurus, and once with Libra. These two signs are naturally quincunx each other, and this describes the way we quite typically see relationship matters (Libra) as incompatible with material ones (Taurus). We tend to believe that the lowest form of relationship in which we can engage is one where we receive a material benefit; we call this person a ‘prostitute’ or label them ‘kept’ and act as if this (a money forĀ  action or energy exchange, and we condemn this in spite of the fact that a job has the same general parameters) is in itself a moral failing. Our natural uneasiness in mixing or equating the two must be tempered by an awareness that living in mutually beneficial material situations is really what we must do, not just for survival but in order to build civilization. We tend to see a relationship that involves love as more noble than one that provides something we need–and yet we mix these things, love and material need, all the time, particularly when we are in partnership–and perhaps that is one of the underlying reasons the mate relationship is so fraught with emotional landmines: we hold ourselves and our loved ones to impossibly high standards, demanding ‘pure’ love be given and received, and yet the very fabric of day-to-day requires an interdependence that, if we recognize any facet of it as a cold, material exchange, may de-value our relationship in our own eyes.

Taken from ‘Your Money-tude’ in the current issue of ECLIPSE; to see this article or to get the daily forecast (planetary aspects and those of Sedna, Chiron, Vesta, Ceres, Juno, Pallas, and Zeus, as well as most Lunar aspects, too) delivered to your email every Thursday, subscribe!
