Sells_Floto_Circus_presents_M'lle_Beeson,_a_marvelous_high_wire_Venus,_performance_poster,_192110 September our actions and choices are just a little off; we know better and still somehow manage to make a poor decision. It’s not a disaster, but does make us feel as if we’re not in control. What should reassure us is that perceptions, especially mental ones, are exaggerated and may be influenced by what we want to think rather than by reality; our own desires may lead us in entirely the wrong direction. Too, relationships and financial matters retreat under a haze of wishful thinking, illusion, or imaginative optimism—don’t make any pronouncements on these at this point, but do explore ways to creatively expand income and take relationships in a direction that’s closer to ideal. Artists and creators of all types, you have an opportunity to wield the creative in a highly conscious manner if your goal is earning or creating beauty. (Perfecting Today: Mars semi-square Pallas, Venus opposed Neptune, Mercury sextile Jupiter and parallel Zeus)

. . . . as in, ‘getting rid of or being done with pain’. The Full Moon in Pisces occurs at 6:38 PM Pacific time of the 8th at 16 Pisces 19, and is conjunct Chiron, quincunx Zeus, and captures Saturn, Vesta, and Juno in a Water Grand Trine. Since a FM is a culmination, we are arriving at an ending—but of what? Most likely the ending of some hurtful situation or wound which is healed via our own emotion-guided empowerment that comes directly from living our highest values in some form. The reality picture requires we modify ambitions and desires, and thereby we create surroundings that truly meet our highest standards—and this is very possibly through modifications or changes on the home front, with our behavior toward and treatment of the mate, and/ or by aligning our goals with what we honor and find sacred. This is a course-correction point that offers significant lessening of psychic and emotional pain, if we 1) will apply the needed changes to the environment and practices, and 2) be willing to let the pain go. Miss either component, and things stay much the same.

The AstroEssence: 4 September relationship demands, what we want, and our means of earning may all violate the needs of the home front, the mate, highest values, or those things we find sacred—and yet our minds are set, and unwilling to bend to accommodate those values or needs. We find ourselves in a spot that feels restricted and that seems contrary to what we would normally want or support—but this is when we ask ourselves if that’s really true. A review of our actual priorities, and of what’s truly restricting us, is in order. (Perfecting today: Venus contra-parallel Vesta, Mercury semi-square Saturn)
Lunar movement: 11 AM PDT the Capricorn Moon trines the Sun, giving us a period of clarity. Note what you’re aware of now, and how you perceive it, as your viewpoint is likely accurate (unless the figurative Sun is in your eyes!) 3 PM PDT the Moon opposes Juno and sextiles Vesta. Are we butting heads needlessly? That’s the question–anything that doesn’t directly empower and respect our values should be let go. This is the beginning of an Earth Grand Cross with Juno, Uranus, and Zeus; the Moon also sextiles Chiron. We are trying to assert the Self and balance this need with our chances for ambition fulfillment–the unexpected gets in the way, and our own wounds, or our fear of hurting others, make us hesitant. This all happens in ways that affect the material situation. Going after what you want is fine, as long as you are acutely aware of where your territory ends and that of others begins; accomplishment only comes when we operate with full knowledge of others’ rights and privileges. 9 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Saturn. This is a point when we can give emotions structure and containment; make sure they take fluid, rather than rigid, shapes.
Grand Trine with Vesta-Juno-Chiron=This reinforces the idea that to successfully empower ourselves we need to be sensitive to the wounds and sacred places of others, as well as making sure our choices honor our Chirotic gifts and our own priorities.
Today’s image is a cave-dwelling salamander that lives in the dark and breathes through its skin. Look for unusual ways to accomplish the usual and necessary; this will evolve talents with little effort.

Don’t abdicate, for instance, your responsibility to put that fire out. from ‘The Chronicles of St. Denis’ 12th century Artist unknown {{PD}}

From ‘Attachments—Asking Why’, an article on relationships in the current ECLIPSE:

We’ve talked about Ceres’ sex-deadening energy specifically when it contacts the Mars, chart ruler, or Sun or Sun ruler of a male from a female’s chart, or within a same sex interaction in either person’s chart to the other’s, but Ceres can bring her overwhelming Earth Mama or directly maternal vibe by moving aspect, and so temporarily put a damper on drives, unless the individuals can relate to an elemental form of sexuality—if the involved individuals are too civilized, too strongly identify caring with mothering, or are too frightened of Nature and natural behaviors (these make some people feel out-of-control), then a Ceres transit can really gum things up, the worst part being that one might feel the change is permanent, rather than transitory.

Just a Little Lunar Essence for 30 August: the Moon enters Scorpio at 1:53 AM Pacific time of the 30th. 1 PM PDT the Moon trines Neptune. We are open to deep feeling, inspiration, and creative change–whatever moves you at this point is likely to be very positive–unless you let yourself be mislead. Vet your ideas by imagining potential outcomes; if they’re all good, you’ve got a green light. 3 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Ceres and trines Earth. We connect with our power by connecting, literally, with the earth. Garden, work with clay, walk outside barefoot, swim in a natural body of water, plant something–it will bring power, balance, and peace.

31 August relationships may support us, and our money and/ or talent supports our skills, but only if we refuse to dwell on our wounds or to think like losers! At this time the world really is ours to make of it what we will; don’t abdicate your immense power to declare your territory as your own in favor of playing victim or out of a mistaken belief that it’s egotistical to declare yourself—there’s nothing modest or virtuous about pretending to be weaker or more confused than we actually are. (Perfecting today: Venus semi-square Pallas, Mercury contra-parallel Chiron and semi-square Vesta, Earth trine Ceres)

‘Undergrowth with Two Figures’ Vincent Van Gogh 1890 {{PD}}

24 August we see some raw, unadulterated, Self-focused (but not necessarily selfish) drive around ambitions and desire fulfillment come forward—we may just observe this in relationships, or may feel it ourselves—and some may become intent on making relationships or ambition scenarios payoff. The problem will be that thinking will be contrary to effective ambition fulfillment—it may in fact be so contrary to it that it crashes any efforts we make—and yet, pursuit of goals and wants isn’t out of the question, it just has to be done by feeling and instinct, like negotiating a pitch-dark room. Already launched ambition efforts may rake in Love or Money. Unique Self-expression suffers only to the extent that it fails to follow our own highest values and standards—if it does, we might be able to heal something long ago damaged and waiting for closure. (Venus sextile Zeus, Mercury contra-parallel Zeus, opposed Chiron, and quincunx Uranus, Sun sesquiquadrate Uranus and contra-parallel Vesta)

Today’s image is a young man, all alone, walking down a muddy road; in every direction, as far as the eye can see, there is nothing but a sea of yellow grass. No matter how alone or isolated we feel, we are still going forward, still going somewhere. It’s our own hubris that lets us think we know our destination; it’s much more natural that we don’t.

The ECLIPSE Daily for 20 August 2014: Wisdom in Dark Places

Keep your eyes open–the Trickster doesn’t always wear a bright, diamond-patterned jumpsuit. Edgar Degas – Arlequin danse, c. 1890 {{PD}}

20 August wisdom is found in dark places, and in standing up for ourselves, though one place we won’t find good alternatives offered is on the home front or by the mate; it might be too much a time when everyone is focused on their own creative empowerment, and so what they share will speak more of their own insecurities and power situations than anything else. Avoid authorities today; they won’t be any help. Stand on your own two feet, though, and you can make dreams a reality. (Perfecting today: Pallas semi-square Black Moon Lilith, Vesta contra-parallel Pallas, Neptune trine Juno, Mercury contra-parallel Ceres)

The Moon enters Cancer at 1:45 AM PDT of the 20th. 9:30 AM PDT the Cancer Moon squares Pallas and trines Ceres. We may be trundling along, feeling pretty satisfied (the Cancer Moon can have that effect) when suddenly we realize we’re doing something (or allowing something to happen) that is decidedly unwise–and further, someone is increasing their power or reach because of it. Deployment of skills is called for, along with a Willingness (no, a complete commitment) to claim our own power and territory, and stand ready to defend it. Just the readiness makes conflict unlikely. 2 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Juno and forms a Water Grand Trine with Neptune and Vesta. We are empowered specifically through our emotions; equal parts creativity and dedication make up the recipe that offers truly effective empowerment options. 9 PM PDT the Moon opposes Pluto and sextiles Mercury, catching Venus at the midpoint of the two. What’s communicated, what we hear, shows us exactly where the darkness lies, who is at the heart of it, what can be gained, and exactly what needs to change–“wisdom is found in dark places”. Now it’s up to us.

Today’s image is a Trickster figure, who awards you something favorable. Watch for this person, and thank them–Tricksters aren’t always out to fool you, you know 🙂

15 August it seems full speed ahead for expressing our power and taking meaningful action, especially toward uncovering the truth, and yet, our minds are a little distanced, critical, focused on details, discerning and materially-oriented, and so easily distracted from the action. The mental attitude is meant to empower, and skews choice toward ambition fulfillment—but in the end what makes a mark is passionate commitment, a willingness to do, especially to build, that colors boldly, but still stays within the lines. (Perfecting today: Mars sextile Pluto, Mercury into Virgo, parallel Juno, and semi-square Zeus)

From the book Shin Bijin (True Beauties) by Chikanobu Hashimoto 1897 {{PD}}

12 August the reality picture seems to grab hold of our methods and means of empowerment and mischievously twist them; relationships suddenly become all about money or what the other person thinks is smart, but we can’t help but feel something loving is being destroyed if we acquiesce or concentrate on assets. Words speak to some part of us we can’t pinpoint (and we speak from this subliminal stratum, as well) and nothing seems stable or secure; we feel we can point to irrefutable proof of that. That latter is a bit delusional; we must realize that we are seeing reality under too harsh a light—it seems so oppressive, and when we do that, we tend to exaggerate the negatives, and despair. Put on some rose-colored glasses, and wait for upsets to pass—and don’t take anything that comes across as hardline too seriously, at least for now. (Perfecting today: Saturn sesquiquadrate Juno, Venus into Leo, sextile Pallas, and contra-parallel Pluto, Mercury square Sedna, Mercury and the Sun contra-parallel Saturn)

‘Fairy Islands’ from the book Elves and Fairies 1916 by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite {{PD}}

8 AM PDT of the 2nd the Libra Moon quincunxes Sedna. Feelings, especially about relationships, are jarred by things in our ‘blind spot’–and so the origin of the disturbed feelings can’t be pinpointed. Noon the Moon trines Juno and semi-sextiles Pallas. Our empowerment relies on listening to that still, small voice of wisdom–but remember, it’s a choice, so we’re not guaranteed to stop and pay attention, and the voice won’t bother to shout–we have to be willing to hear what it’s saying. 4 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Ceres. The power balance in relationships is examined–negotiations, overt or covert, are in order, and Nature and one’s sense of authority all have their say in what’s worked out. This can even things out between individuals in such a way that it makes for a long-lasting and stable interaction, or it can show us that equity and balance will never be achieved with that particular person. An eye-opener that we should pay attention to. Void begins at 5:40 PM PDT; the Moon enters Scorpio at 7:57 PM Pacific. 10 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Vesta. We may look for emotional comfort on the home front, with the mate, or by diving in to causes to which we dedicate our life energy–or we may intuit something happening below the surface in one or more of these areas. The Scorpio Moon will dig to discover what’s hidden–be ready for an emotional revelation.

3 August thoughts and words may be darker or more destructive than we intend—in fact, we may not realize the power behind what we think and say at all! Too, illusion may seem preferable to the truth at this point. With just a small adjustment to the focus of our attention we can see both what’s powerful and what’s destructive—and so can avoid inflicting inadvertent damage. (Perfecting today: Mercury contra-parallel Pluto and quincunx Neptune, Sun quincunx Pluto)

The Daily Word Image for the 3rd is tiny green fairy lights in the summer garden. Time to fantasize, dream, and maybe consider the life forces, beings, and energies we can’t (or won’t) see.

And from an article on the life and death of founding member of the Rolling Stones Brian Jones (charts are here):

“Brian Jones has a 7th House Pisces Sun close to the South Node; Sun close to a Node implies birth close to an eclipse, and a Total Lunar eclipse arrived almost exactly three days later, on the 3rd. The eclipse was conjunct Jones’ North Node, his Ascendant, and his Earth (and so opposed his Sun), square his Jupiter, ruler of the 4th, and trine his Vesta. The emphasis on home and place, and on the identity so soon after birth may have sensitized his first conscious days to an extraordinary degree, setting up a condition of awareness of the loss of the Cosmic condition of the womb, and an existential longing that nothing earthly could quell. This may be reflected in his purchase, just a year before his death, of the house where A. A. Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh, Cotchford Farm; it seems an unusual choice for a premier rock star of the day, a sentimental and comforting atmosphere in a relatively isolated setting that was the opposite of the contemporary music scene.”

Weak sauce or not, we’ll all get a taste. Jean Béraud’s ‘The Drinkers’ 1908 {{PD}}

New Moon in Leo occurs 26 July at 3 Leo 51 at 3:41 PM Pacific time. The Leo New Moon roars at us mid-afternoon Pacific time, and so in most of the Western hemisphere may go unnoticed in the daytime sky. This New Moon is conjunct Jupiter, and we can count a loose sesquiquadrate to Chiron—and with lenient orbs a square to Mars, brand new in Scorpio.

This suggests that what develops at the NM seems much more formidable, with tougher requirements for action and choice, and much more serious stakes, than it really is; it appears that this conflict or challenge will in actuality be ‘weak sauce’, as the phrase goes—with effects likely concentrated in the natal Houses holding the NM and t Mars. We may work ourselves up, or the social circle may make noises that suggest this is a bigger event than it is—but what happens, or what choices we must make or actions take, will be much less effective and/ or meaningful to our Path than we might think in the moment. Mars new in Scorpio could be more concerned with being taken seriously (even being considered ‘dangerous’ in some sense) than in getting into action, and a square to Sun-Jupiter only adds incentive to broadcast the Self and ‘shine’—no one reacts well to that kind of pressure, especially after the somewhat debilitating experience of the Saturn-Uranus direction changes.
