Juno, Juno in the Natal Chart, Kate Middleton, Royal Wedding

Since Juno is the consort/ wife of the supreme ruler, I thought a look at Kate Middleton’s Juno would be in order (9 January 1982 no time known Berkshire UK). Though Kate’s not a Queen Consort yet, she’s almost certain to be one in future–in fact, her Juno, at 16 Sagittarius 46, will be within orb of conjunction to her natal Capricorn Sun by Solar Arc in less than two years–possibly signaling the point when this occurs (though the orb stretches out to as much as 4-5 years from now).

Literal ascension to the throne of England aside, Kate is effectively attaining the potential for this position, and locking in her status, tomorrow with her wedding to William, ostensibly second in line to the throne; but with each passing day the possibility that his father’s reign will be short (by choice or circumstance) or that he will step aside altogether in favor of his popular son, grows. It’s not unlikely, then, that Kate could be a Queen sooner rather than later.

There are really only a few things to talk about centering on Kate’s Juno; it’s conjunct Vesta and Neptune, all in Sagittarius, sextile Pallas, and square Zeus (this latter is the most intriguing part–we’ll get to this last). Since a time of birth is not publicly known, I drew a noon chart, which suggests that if she was born anytime around noon local time, she has a Finger of God with apex Juno and arms quincunx of Chiron and the Cancer Moon–and there is defnitely a Finger of God with the same members but replacing the Moon with (or adding to the Moon, if this is close to the Moon’s actual placement) the Earth. Apex Juno says that Juno empowerment and status will be attained once the material Purpose (what’s needed in the surroundings in order to fulfill the Soul/ Sun Purpose–shown by the Earth) and Chiron in Taurus (indicating the primal wound, likely seated in security, especially the material variety) is sufficiently dealt with and the Chirotic skill accessed (again, of a Taurean nature, such as the ability to procure, comfort, or enjoy the sensual and material)–and the Earth and Chiron dispositions are working in harmony–and with all that Earthiness, they seem to be! So, a prime condition for realization of her Juno has been met.

If the Moon is involved in the Finger, it may suggest that an intuitive emotional understanding of material and security needs may drive things–just figurative royal icing on the cake, at this point. The conjunction to Vesta and Neptune suggest the nature of the Juno empowerment will involve glamor and illusion, ideals, to include those things she finds most sacred, home and hearth, and the sex life–kind of a ‘Duh!’ here, isn’t it? But this also points to the way her Juno is specifically empowered through the domestic situation and sex life (Vesta). In Sag Juno will be a kind of Ambassadress, a teacher if by nothing more than example, with ‘reaching out’ both a goal and needed expression–perfect for a Royal role; and the sextile to Pallas offers wise guidance–possibly evidenced by a lack of ‘skeletons in the closet’!

The most intriguing aspect, to me, is the square Kate’s Juno makes to Zeus. This is a point I started using almost by accident, and how it was come up with, I don’t know, it’s part of my Solar Fire program, and it was pointed out to me that it is not the asteroid Zeus (update: I have since discovered that it‘s the hypothetical point  further update: the ‘corrector’ was wrong–it is the asteroid!); but I’m convinced of its accuracy and usefulness–and isn’t that what we’re looking for in bodies and points used in astrological analysis? Yes it is.

This square is like a frantic shout, an ‘Uh-oh, trouble ahead’ in any chart, but in the chart of a future Queen consort, Juno’s literal role in the myth, it’s a huge red flag; what can it mean? The Queen of Olympus (Juno) is in conflict with the King of Olympus (Zeus), who is both her husband and her brother, and as well her sovereign. And what is the conflict in the myth? It is several things, the primary one being infidelity on the King’s part, with secondarily a commensurate disrespect shown toward Juno as both wife and Queen, with her attempts to empower herself (by vengeful plots and issuing orders, mainly) largely ignored by all. But how literally can we take this? Perhaps it only symbolizes the harshness to be expected in taking on a role that is both extremely public and highly symbolic–one’s husband cannot and will not shield one from what is essentially a marital duty, in this case. There is the possibility that this shows actual infidelity–after all, that’s a time-honored tradition of Royalty everywhere, and certainly has direct precedent in Will’s father’s behavior–so the question becomes, how far did this apple fall from the tree? Eventually, we’ll find out.

See more on Juno in the personal chart and in relationship in my book, JUNO IN THE NATAL CHART   And get goods with the lovely Juno emblazoned on them here— Thanks!

The Essence for 23-24 April 2011: Opportunity

astrology, Chiron, Juno, Moon in Aquarius, Moon in Capricorn, My Weekend Astro Diary, Sun/ Earth axis, The Astro Essence, Venus

Looking for opportunity is half the reason we study the stars in the first place, isn't it? Thought to be 15th century, no source known {{PD}}

1:30 AM on the 23rd sees the Moon act as the arm of a T-square to the Saturn/ Mercury opposition–and should initially result in the emotions being pulled mightily between what you think, or has been communicated to you, and what you observe as reality, the rules, or the ‘real’ situation. This is a test of how much you trust yourself; even with Merc retro, you will know what is true–funnel your emotional clarity into resolving what’s presented so that your emotional picture is accurate and acceptable for you–you needn’t answer to anyone else.

5 AM Pacific the Moon trines Juno in Earth. When the emotions and intuition are keyed to Earth, and touching Juno also in Earth, we are handed a recipe for making good financial plans and decisions. We will see just what will effectively bring us a sense of prosperity, stability, comfort, reward, and abundance–and we can see how to go after it. For those who may be asleep at this time, take note of your dreams, or events in the night; these likely hold clues to achieve that material boost.

By 8:30 AM the Moon squares Mars; they are in Cardinal signs! they want results! they can be dramatic and assertive while still following the rules! Again, opportunity knocks, but stretching out actions to a slightly later point (after Merc direct, at least) will insure a clearer thought process and no (or few) missteps.

The Moon enters Aquarius at 10:59 AM of the 24th, semi-sextiling Neptune and briefly sprinkling bunny glitter on everything. It’s nice to allow a little glamor and illusion now and again, isn’t it? A sextile to Uranus (3 PM PDT) brings a little surprise, shock, or revelation, and then the Aquarius Moon makes a T-square with the Sun/ Earth axis, and as well sextiles Venus and places Chiron at the midpoint (7PM-ish PDT). Oh! The tension that comes forward is both intellectual and fundamental to the situation; it was there all along, now we can see it. The less mature may suffer a bout of rebellion or insist on avant garde-ism, but everyone else will see the healing potential in the air–and embrace it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hubert 'The Fire of Rome 18 July 64 AD' {{PD-Art}}

9 PM PST the 15th the Aries Moon trines the Sun in Fire, and we get all fired up–for West Coasters, may represent one of those inconvenient times when we should be winding down but end up revving up! By 11 PM Pacific the Moon is within quincunx of Juno and creates a Finger of God with her sextile to Neptune/ Chiron. Pointing the way to empowerment is a formula that says, use emo perceptions and intuition in concert with creative energy and unique skills–sounds easy, but pinpointing the arenas is the challenge. The House that holds transiting Juno (25 Virgo 46) tells us where in this moment our empowerment options lie; move on this as it may facillitate many other developments and certainly will help us know where our strengths are contained. With Uranus/ Jupiter at the midpoint of the Finger’s base, we can hook into a stream of social energy that helps our empowerment goals–be open to mass urges, occasions, and beliefs you can use for your own ends.

To read about the current Grand Cross, and get detailed forecasts, access monthly overviews, New and Full Moon reports, and the articles of ECLIPSE magazine, all for only $4.95 order here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/the-latest-new-fall-2010-eclipse/ and for a thorough portrait of Juno in the individual chart and in synastry, try JUNO IN THE NATAL CHART http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/ Thanks!

Added: The naming of Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook mogul, as TIME’s Person of the Year came as a surprise to quite a few; naming him so during a Merc retro period suggests they (the TIME staff responsible) may regret their choice (embarrassed, perhaps?) once the tiny messenger planet goes Direct.

Excerpts from ‘Juno in the Natal Chart’

Juno, Juno Aspects, Juno in the Natal Chart, Synastry: Juno to Mars

This is from the section describing Juno’s contact in a woman’s own chart to other bodies:

Juno to her own Moon: This links empowerment firmly to female energies concerned with generational, ancestral, maternal, and intuitive impulses, and in easy or neutral aspects (conjunction, sextile, trine) creates a formidable instinctual nature within the individual. In any contact, easy or hard (semi-square, square, sesquiquadrate, quincunx, opposition) this duo has the potential to access powerful generative and cyclic rhythms, allowing the woman to tune in to these and draw on and use that energy as her own, an effective conduit for the Universal flow. It’s an energy that’s creative, primal, and natural, and as such adds something unusual to the woman’s aura; this can make those who are less than comfortable with the physical and psychic roles of women reject or distance themselves from these individuals–these women may be perceived as threatening, carrying a native power that allows access to the unseen, and can make others feel ’emotionally x-rayed’ in their presence.

And this from the definitions of cross-chart aspects, between the charts of partners.

Juno in aspect to partner’s Mars: When with this combination Juno belongs to the woman and Mars to the man, the essence of the contact lies largely in the man’s feelings about his own empowerment as a man, and his effectiveness at fulfilling ego needs and taking action. If he enjoys a solid sense of effectiveness and high Self-esteem, then even in harsh contact he may be willing to work out a way of accepting and supporting the woman’s empowerment choices; she, however, may find him too abrasive in hard aspect, while a soft aspect may hinge on both her own sense of effectiveness and ability to act, and her feeling that his actions support, or at least don’t inhibit, her bid for empowerment (see the cross-chart Saturn contacts for clues as to possible restricting attitudes with both partners). If she feels at least somewhat effective in her actions and that he is ‘for’ her, rather than against her, she may be open to making it work. When Juno is the man’s, though, the picture may be much different: hard aspects suggest he does not see her ego and action energies as compatible with his idea of ‘appropriate’ mate behavior, while soft aspects say that he finds her ego assertions and action choices in general appropriate and pleasing, at least as long as they aren’t threatening (in hard aspect to) his own ego (Mars) and effectiveness (Sun) energies.

22 October 2010: Full Moon, ‘The Precipice’

21 Thursday Oct 2010

astrology, Full Moon, Juno, Moon in Aries

There is a factor of revelation to this Full Moon, the kind that tells us, ‘You’d better choose, you need to realize it can’t go on as it has, you’d better sh*t or get off the pot’ It won’t be that crude, but it will be that direct; we will see something (likely hooked to the matters of the axis of the natal House where this occurs) that must be dealt with, decided, that must reach a conclusion of some sort. Since it occurs in Libra, in the anaretic 29th degree, the tension of conclusion/ culmination that is a natural part of a Full Moon doubles; add to this that there is likely to be involvement with one’s relationship(s) and/ or with one’s aesthetic output, and/ or with expression of Will and want, and we have a prescription for situations that could blow-up–though even in distress, these circumstances could retain the politesse and civilized veneer of Libra–no shouting, certainly no shoving, though watch out for the passive-aggressive mental (Air sign and Fire sign, both Cardinals) sucker-punch that will leave you reeling; while the opposing forces may do just that, force an already stressed issue (Aries). We may divide up into aggressors and victims (energy across the Aries/ Libra axis–and there are some of each on both sides) though the truth is it’s a co-operative dance, with no truly guilty parties and no true innocents, either; that’s something to keep in mind during the go ’round.

The point in time of the Full Moon is potentially a precipice–an abrupt edge, passing over which we experience radical change–but no one can say with any certainty whether this will be perceived as positive or negative. The Sabian for the Aries Full Moon is ‘A Duck Pond and its Brood’  This suggests to me that changes occurring now are aimed (guided perhaps by the Soul, by the Higher Self, by God, by the Universe) at putting one into one’s ‘right environment,’ to finding the tribe to which one belongs and to creative expression in its broadest sense. This points the way toward best use of the Full Moon tension, in resolution through co-operating with the ‘right’ others. The trick is in finding, recognizing, and accepting that one has found them, that one belongs to this particular group, and that through this function one may see things about oneself that the ego doesn’t find flattering. To this I say, if you haven’t already, it’s time to assign the ego a back seat–(relatively) easily done with the Full Moon culmination in that last degree of Aries.

Imagine coming upon this pond, knowing you will find your tribe here JFAuburtin {{PD-Art}}

Okay, so I’ve loosened up a bit with the strict orb thing–I’ll go 2.5 if it gives us clarity. What we have, then, is a single contact, a generous quincunx of the Sun to Uranus in Pisces. In this instance it’s an oblique path the Moon energy takes to meet up with the Rebellious One, but there it is: the choice may be either a break-out moment for the ego (that could alienate one from the group and leave previous ties suddenly severed, or at least in little relationship tatters), or it could be the impetus for the Aries Moon to work out its differences (the quincunx) and serve via energy and attention (the connection through the Sun) the group (Uranian) interests–subsuming the ego in order to engage in the ultimate form of co-operation.

ECLIPSE Readers: the ‘Cup’ is present for this Full Moon–with what will you fill it?

Get my new book on Juno, a must-have, if I do say so myself, for asteroid enthusiasts– http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com   Thank You! And have a wonderful Full Moon experience!

28 September 2010: Being Self-Interested

Juno, Moon in Gemini, Moon in Taurus, My Daily Astrology Diary

By 4 PM PDT on the 27th our Lunar hero forms a T-square with Juno opposed Neptune/ Chiron; the emotions or intuition try desperately to resolve this stand-off between illusion specifically fostered by hurt, or dreaming about using skills, and the need to control energy and expression in order to serve true empowerment needs. It’s a most insidious Self-sabotage, as we fixate on what we wish, what would be ideal, what could heal us, and miss what’s in front of us that will, by a slightly different route, give us exactly what we want–what may help is to know that what you’re envisioning as the fantasy way to fulfillment (courtesy of Neptune) is illusory. The real avenue to empowerment right now is through true, careful Self-regard, the kind that will build toward both goals and a more solid sense of identity (Leo placement), rather than trying to institute dream-schemes that spring from woundedness. Treating ourselves with respect, rather than indulging whims, is key. At the same time the Moon is opposing Vesta, perhaps making us temporarily reject our core values, making it that much tougher to treat well what really matters. It’s a mini-rebellion, eased along by the sextile to Jupiter/ Uranus about 6 PM PDT, making it a snap to exaggerate expression and individuality needs–anyone who kicks and screams at this point will be responding immaturely, and losing the chance to make the most of those positive energies that will support Soul expression so well. A quincunx to Ceres rounds out the influence–authority requires us to modify the emotional response for success. It all makes one big picture.

The Void begins at 8:04 PM PDT, suggesting that we relax for a while–too much work (or simply too much stress) makes Jack a dull boy, as they say. The Moon enters Gemini at 11:10 PM Pacific. The first aspect Gemmy Moon makes is a quincunx to Pluto, again asking us to make emotional adjustments in the face of Change, with a big ‘C.’  By now this has probably become mighty wearing; the antidote is, once more, Soul-rooted, mature, Self-interest, the kind that allows the world to change and us to be able to handle it because we know who we are.

9 AM on the 28th and the Moon trines the Sun, allowing an emo centered reality check on current life direction. We may feel like that’s the last thing we need right now, but it’s good prep for the upcoming Venus retro, and the soon-to-arrive New Moon (see ECLIPSE forecast section for details http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/) This is followed by a 1 PM-ish Moon trine to Saturn and a trine to the North Node, making our realizations all-too real–we get a hint at what the material situation might be in future-a useful perception to recall later.

A quincunx to Mars in the 4 PM hour PDT means we could be irritated at this point and quick to fight–once more, true Self-interest says we should channel this into what we need to get done, rather than standing on a (figurative) street corner, spoiling to punch someone. If we go for lovin’ not fightin’ we get the payoff around 8 PM with the Moon’s quincunx to Venus–as long as we remain flexible in terms of what form our payoff can take (we don’t turn away that million dollars because it arrives at our door in pennies, for instance!) we can receive some interesting interaction, messages (Gemini) or enjoy something radically sexy (Venus in Scorpio).

A trine to Zeus 10 PM-ish of the 28th says it may be easy to allow the desire Will or the ambitions to carry us away, especially in too much talk or gossip (Gemini Moon). Keeping a check on expression is the idea–we feel good, and it would be a shame to throw it away by going overboard.

This period requires the kind of enlightened Self-interest on the individual level that will keep our personal situation well attended to and that enables us to refuse the many fleeting distractions that surround us. And through it all, have a great one!

26 September 2010: Ain’t It Grand?

ECLIPSE magazine, Finger of God, Grand Cross, Grand Square, Juno, Moon in Taurus, My Daily Astrology Diary, My Weekend Astro Diary, the Magazine

There’s a wonderful Grand Square formed (and while we consider this as a square, Pluto is also in the mix), soon to also be a Cross, involving the Nodes, Saturn/Sun, and Earth. Why wonderful? I’m not quite sure; it’s got a charged-up electric energy, seated in the Sun in a Venus-ruled sign, Saturn in its exaltation, the Earth in dynamic, kick-ass Aries, and the Nodes in Cardinal (action) energies of caring and structure–it just sounds like a recipe for transformation of circumstances (Pluto) and materialization of what’s both expressive of our Soul intents (Sun), needed for the Soul’s expression materially (Earth), and designed to move us along in our destined direction (the Nodes). A major config that presents major opportunity–and today holds a specific positive time period for another significant configuration–see ECLIPSE for details–I abhor saying it over and over, but if you do come here often to follow the Lunar forecast picture, you really could use the forecast section of the magazine–’nuff said 🙂

The lovely Taurus Moon goes on to quincunx Zeus around 1 PM PDT, challenging the emotions to accomodate the ambitions–somehow they rub each other the wrong way. The Lunar picture moves toward the physical, toward the material, the artisanal, through the rest of the day and into evening Pacific time–then around 2 AM PDT of the 27th, the Moon trines Mercury in Earth. The messages are centered on material circumstances, even when they appear to be otherwise; it’s a situation of reverse-symbolism, where talk about priciples and values is really representative of the asset situation–very ‘Taurus as concerned with who has what.’

8 AM PDT on the 27th brings the Moon conjunct Sedna–uh-oh, all those material things we were just talking about are just not discernible–it’s almost like we’ve spent time sorting through who has what only to find that everybody’s stuff seems to have disappeared! It’s only a temporary vanishing act, which is meant to turn our attention elsewhere for awhile.

A quincunx to Vesta noonish PDT means we get our sense of values back not just intact but heightened–after this little interlude we know what really counts. By 2 PM the Moon is in place as the apex of a Finger of God with base of Vesta/ Ceres; this implies that the emotions and/ or intuition (or possibly the matters of the House where the transiting Moon falls in the natal chart) will serve as outlet for a negotiation over the most important values and life elements (home in all senses, and the most intimately connected relationships)–the goal is to find what’s ‘natural’–and once the balance is reached a rush of emotional perception, intuitive knowing, and/ or other revelation about how to proceed will occur.

Many thanks to all who’ve bought JUNO IN THE NATAL CHART–I’d love to hear your thoughts, positive or negative or anywhere in between, and so would those who are considering the book–please share! 20 September 2010: Awash in the Zeitgeist

Dark of the Moon, ECLIPSE magazine, Juno, Moon in Aquarius, Moon in Pisces, My Daily Astrology Diary

So just after I complained about short Voids not allowing us a little recuperation time, along comes this Void and gives us a stretch free of Lunar feedback (and this may invite a few brains to run hot–it’s in Aquarius–a few tempers to over heat and a wee touch of rebellion to foment–that lasts through 1:15 PM Pacific time; that’s when the Moon enters softly persuasive Pisces–persuasive as we may just want to lie back and dream, with the first aspect not forming until 5:30 PM PDT. At that point the Moon sextiles Pluto, and we may be able to purge emotionally; there’s a possibility that during the after-Pisces-entry hours we could be a bit too receptive to the Collective schmutz and may find ourselves angst-y over things we grab out of the air, rather than anything in our own lives. This all takes place during Dark of the Moon (which began 2 AM-ish Pacific today), so that there’s an even further remove, a feeling of disconnection blanketing it all that serves to make everything a lot more nebulous, and everyone a lot more spacey, in their own way (that just takes away barriers to the personality, amplifying each of us–you get MORE of what you are!)

By 9 PM PDT the Moon trines Mars, both in Water; we can expect a feeling that’s like swimming: we’re making effort but it’s not the usual, we’re soothed yet anxiety can come on in an instant, we’re bouyed yet enveloped. Emotionally we’re working up to the conjunction of the Moon with Jupiter/ Uranus late evening Pacific of the 22nd and early morning of the 23rd which precedes the Cardinal Point Full Moon. Stress levels may be high and difficult to get a handle on, starting with this trine to Mars and building toward the Full Moon.

1 AM PDT of the 21st the Moon quincunxes Saturn–use this grounding moment (which will come through some small dissonance in consciousness)  to orient yourself and take a read on the situation. At this time we need all the grounding influences we can get.

5 AM of the 21st the Moon makes a Water Grand Trine with Venus and the South Node, and we get steeped in nostalgia (literally, the pain of the past) and awash with all our deepest longings and yearnings emotionally and for connection. The Soul is gently turned inside-out with emotion. Understand that, though likely involving some degree of pain, regret, and heartache, this is a very good thing to experience, because it lets us know what we believe would make us complete-and that’s typically not at all what we truly need or want for satisfaction in our lives. It’s a period of sentimentality that can have a purpose that’s quite useful at giving some perspective to things.

The Moon steadily moves toward opposition with Mercury, perfecting in the 11 AM hour PDT. We may feel this building, as the Dark period otherwise tones down most other, immediate influences, making some really pop. This could be a point of revelation, or a mini comedy of errors, as communication can be confusing, even messy, and of course, there’s the potential for confrontation.

Relaxing and envisioning might be my recommendations for this period–along with buying the NEW ‘Juno in the Natal Chart’ http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com or getting the Summer issue of ECLIPSE, which carries a large entry on this upcoming Full Moon, the Venus retro and how to handle it, articles, and the October forecast http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-summer-2010-eclipse/

And! New at ‘Been There, Done That’ just posted ‘Your Relationship Power Balance’ http://askjulie.wordpress.com/2010/09/20/your-relationship-power-balance/

And have a great one!

The ‘Why’ of Things

astrology, ECLIPSE magazine, Juno, Phillip Markoff, Pluto, real life astrology, the Magazine

There seems to be a trend of late wherein what’s often being said (or expressed in some form) is dressed up with what we want it to mean, rather than with the words or expression having a decent relationship to the facts that are evident. This is likely due to Mercury’s relatively disconnected status at present, which leaves us searching for meaning, looking to attach something to our words and thoughts that give them depth–it’s probably why I’m writing this, even, putting my own spin on what comes to me.

The suicide of alleged ‘Craig’s List Killer’ Phillip Markoff brought forward lots of commentary on the news like this: ‘He couldn’t face his future, therefore he ended it all.’ When I heard this extrapolation, the kind of assumption rooted in a personal viewpoint (and rooted in the assumption that the rest of the world thinks as the commentator does), I had to take a look at this man’s chart, and see if that’s really the likely impetus behind his demise. And my conclusion was: absolutely not.

Markoff (12 February 1986 no time known Sherrill New York USA) had a strong ego, particularly intellectually; if anyone could rationalize Self-serving action, it was this Sun/ Jupiter/ Venus conjunct in Aquarius (and with Venus at 29 degrees, Self-worth would’ve been a front-and-center issue).

But my thought was that his suicide was actually a final expression of power: taking the power to direct his fate out of authorities’ hands, power to take some measure of justice/revenge from the families of the victims, and exacting some revenge of his own, by killing himself on the anniversary of the date he and his fiancée had planned to marry–could this last be any more angry, any more determined to exact a toll from a major figure in his life?

So I looked to Pluto, the main symbol of both rage and power in the chart. Pluto is trine Mercury (‘smooth talker,’ powerful words, and a likely ability to influence others), semi-square to Uranus (a constant, subtle irritation to be different, be unique, to express the individuality), sextile to Neptune (like most everyone for the past hundred years! enhances the ability to visualize power situations and outlets–but is highly dependent on House rulerships, which we don’t have here), a quincunx to Chiron (power expressions may be driven by hurt–more on this in a moment), a square to Vesta (power expressions are in conflict with what’s sacred in life–likely driving him under pressure to choose one or the other–to honor vital areas of life or to express personal power–a seductive quandary), a sesquiquadrate to Pallas (more irritation–he knew his power expressions weren’t wise), a conjunction to the South Node (roots in the past) and to the Vertex (fated expression of the energies–coupled with the South Node, we may be seeing something compulsively acted out, driven by distant events). Pluto is also opposed the Sedna/ North Node conjunction, suggesting that he was unable to see how his power-needs might drive his life path.

But Pluto/ Vertex is quincunx Chiron, suggesting that the primal hurt continually stimulated the fated power needs–and through Chiron we see something else: the asteroid opposes Juno, Saturn, Mars, all conjunct in Sagittarius. This suggests that he may have seen women, especially those seeking to empower themselves (Juno), and those looking to find that empowerment through marrying a god (himself, in this scenario), as a source of extreme pain, and perhaps as entities who sought to suppress him as a man (Saturn conj Mars), and he may also have seen authorities and ‘the rules’ (Saturn) as suppressive to the masculine Archetype on which he modeled himself, in this case a Sagittarian one of active ‘bachelor’ and seeking behavior. This Chiron is also sextile Vesta (the wound is sacred) and square Ceres (conflict with Woman as a force of nature–may see women in general as something to be controlled, resisted, and perhaps treated as a threat). Here we may have the source of both his extreme aggression toward women and his choice of death date, lashing out a final time at the fiancée, a woman he likely saw as carrying a Juno/ Ceres Archetype, and thus believed by him to be a very powerful Being.

I know I’m in good company when I say that, like many of my colleagues, I’m finding more and more of my material stolen and published elsewhere. I’m given credit, listed as a ‘contributor,’ or the material is otherwise presented as if I’m a willing participant. Apparently, I’m supposed to be grateful and pleased, as my name is still associated with my work. Somehow these individuals fail to see that, as they reach into my pocket and help themselves, they are depriving me of control of my work, and in some instances, they, not I, profit from it. I think the reasoning goes: it’s already on the internet, you should be flattered that someone wants to read it! Just to let my readers know, any authorized sale or presentation of my work will be announced here, and anyone who claims to be authorized to sell my books or ECLIPSE, or who presents an article, in whole or part, has bootlegged them–they’re only available through me http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com with a Juno series available through http://sasstrology.com

Speaking of unauthorized access, yesterday morning, after awaking from what felt like a coma (and truth be told, it was already noon), I was sitting near the garden window when suddenly a man appeared, wanting to know if he could take flowers from my yard. Normally I would’ve said, ‘Take some,’ but it struck me that this man had not come to the door, but had instead crossed the yard from the road and was in essence on the verge of helping himself when he saw me. I have some real issues with boundaries–my Pisces Moon symbolizes my life-long challenge, and I’m repeatedly reminded that to claim what is my own, and to do with it what I will (whether it’s my work or a flower in my garden) is bound to attract those who will be angry because I don’t allow them to take. This may especially be an issue now, for many of us, with Mercury poised as it is, and relatively isolated. Even if someone tries to make you feel bad about it (and users will), don’t hesitate to claim what’s yours.

Support the blog and get three or six months worth of forecasts, special sections on events, and more! And many Thanks to those who’ve been so supportive, and especially to those who’ve purchased the mag, visited the page and taken the polls, and who say such nice things in comments, tweets, and ratings! And to those who say not such nice things, or who rate things poorly, I thank you, too, as I value the feedback–but of course I hope you’ll find another astrologer who serves you better–no one should be unhappy!

Grand Trine, Juno, Moon in Gemini, My Daily Astrology Diary, the Magazine

With the Sun in loquacious Gemini and the Moon in brainy Aquarius, how could we go wrong? As long as we’ve got the intellect up and running, meeting everything that comes our way with an open and daring intelligence, how can we miss? We really can’t, if what we’re presented with has the breezy mental focus of a lively conversation or exchange of information; difficulties may only come forward if we’re confronted with another’s naked ambition or desire, as the Moon moves into Grand Trine with the Sun and Zeus (8PM-ish PDT). We may not be ready for it; we’ll tend to be unguarded and convinced that everything can be talked out by meeting surface concerns–we may fail to take others’ assertions and demands seriously, or at least as seriously as we should, seeding any number of problems for later. Adding to it, aggressions may be sparked by the Mars/ Neptune opposition, where some may feel the need to make the Self heard based on misunderstandings, delusions, or hype–so if someone in your realm just has to speak out, listen for the need, the vulnerability beneath the defense–it’s likely the individual must express, and yet they’ll do so without really understanding what moves them (or moved by a complete illusion about themselves, their needs, or the feelings of others). Active compassion (a way to blend Mars and Neptune) may be the answer here, though by all means, refuse to go along with anyone else’s delusion.

To negotiate the coming days successfully, my money’s on Juno in Gemini, sextile Mars, square Saturn, trine Neptune, still just within square to Jupiter. This suggests empowerment, especially when dealing with others’ aggressions or delusions, can be found in keeping it light, cordial, and mildly informative (Gemini–that means no shockers!) It also suggests the key to holding your own and remaining above any discord is through Self-discipline and restraint, particularly on the public side of matters. This is the key to waking up on the 2nd without uncomfortable entanglements or lengthy re-explanations of what you really meant. Pallas in Scorpio is a bit isolated at this point, meaning that wisdom won’t be as easy to access internally or find in someone else as it might usually be–all the more reason that Self-reliance and Self-restraint will be prized commodities in the near future. A quincunx of the Moon to the South Node, 10 PM or so, reminds us not to get pulled back into past patterns. (More on Juno in my new book, out this summer!)

The Moon quincunxes Venus early morning of the 2nd PDT (around 4:30-9 AM), bringing some awkward illumination to our picture of relationships, values, and/ or finances. What we see may be TMI in some way that alters some ideas we have about who we are, who they are, or what we’ve got. This is a glimpse of the kind of truth we usually prefer not to notice; it’s nothing to freak out about, more something to put in the vault for later (don’t want to say ‘I didn’t know!’ later)

Moon square Sedna 4 PM-ish PDT, and we may not hear what we’re being told (Gemini), or may not know what we’re revealing ourselves. We may just be physically or emotionally drained at this point–in any case, it’s a time to be alert and perhaps not to volunteer any more info than we need to.

1 AM PDT of the 3rd the Moon trines Juno, and we may finally feel emotionally Self-possessed once again–a good time to assess whether what’s been occupying us (especially what’s been on our minds) of late is really supportive and healthy for us.

June is a very active and critical month in terms of development, in my opinion; see it all here http://dogandsunflower.wordpress.com/new-eclipse-spring-2010/ Your purchase supports the blog, brings you a free mini-reading on Ceres by me (just email me with your data, spell out the month, place of birth not co-ordinates), and gives you forecasts on the next two months, info on Uranus into Aries, Chiron into Pisces, the coming eclipses, ‘What You Won’t See on the Blog’ about New and Full Moons, an in-depth portrait of Ceres in the natal chart, Sun as Soul Purpose shown by Sabian symbol, Earth as Material Purpose (the environment needed to foster Soul growth) and much more!

To those who are still waiting on the Ceres mini-reading: thanks for your patience!

And to everyone: have a good one!
