For Saturday 15 December 2012:

2 AM PST the Capricorn Moon forms the base of a Finger of God with the North Node, apex Earth. This suggests that emotions will translate smoothly into life direction, which will have a direct impact on the material situation. This could be a ‘feel it and it happens’ aspect; or rather, a ‘feel it and it changes our efforts, which impact our material circumstances’. Doesn’t flow as well, but means exactly the same thing. 4 AM PST the Moon sextiles Pallas, infusing the feelings with wisdom (and probably a good dose of patience, too).  Noon Pacific time the Moon sextiles Venus in the 29th degree of Scorpio. This stresses relationships and/ or finances, where we are likely to worry there’s something we don’t know about one or the other. The answer to this may actually precede this contact, at around 11 AM PST when the Moon captures Juno at the midpoint of Moon-Venus. This might show us exactly where our real empowerment status and options lie–and the lesson we should take from this is that it’s easy to forget what we know, when something dear (relationships, funds, assets, our Art) comes under stress.

And for Sunday the 16th:

2 AM of the 16th the Aquarian Moon becomes part of a cascade effect, by squaring Saturn, sextiling Mercury, and semi-sextiling Pluto–which arrangement of course catches Merc at the Saturn-Pluto midpoint. The effect may be one where each of us only sees a portion of the chain–one person experiences repression of emotion (Moon sq Saturn) communicates that (Merc) to another, who perceives it as a destructive or deliberately harmful confession (Pluto), for instance, or where transformative emotions (Moon-Pluto) are not communicated to a father-figure or authority (Saturn-Merc) or where those emotions allow one to break the rules (Saturn-Pluto), for another example.

December 12th the big news is Venus conjunct the North Node. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for some it will make for a definitive moment concerning values, wealth, or relationships. Direction in one or more of these areas will be set. Look to the House where this occurs in your chart, as well as any aspects it makes (from 25 Scorpio)in order to know the possible impact.

New Moon occurs December 13th at 12:41 AM PST at 21 Sagittarius 44

The New Moon squares Pallas and quincunxes Sedna, making no other aspects under a three degree orb, though we might consider a semi-square to Saturn, as this could be a wise choice, giving us our ‘doorway’ into reality for NM energies. Sag is about knowledge and the sharing of such, and in square to the symbol of wisdom and practical skills, and quincunx the ‘blind spot’ of the chart, it could signal a point when what is ‘born’ with the NM energy is something decidedly unwise, a parcel of misinformation (as it doesn’t seem deliberately malicious) that affects our reality situation, possibly through putting up unwarranted barriers, slowing or stopping progress, or repressing some element that was on its way to expression. This is so very contradictory to the typical NM scenario, where we are seeing the initiation of something much more positive, that it’s difficult to believe that a New Moon may leave us in such a problem state–but there it is. The worst thing is we will not realize that what we’re deal with is an unwise viewpoint–and of course that’s where all the danger lies.

From the current ECLIPSE:

December 11th sees Mercury square Neptune and semi-square Zeus. This is the result of yesterday’s stressful, secret-bound, and ‘Truth-y’ communications: we are all having difficulty with being lied to or deceived, with sorting fact from fiction, and with communicating our creative urge. A big part of why is the intrusion of ambitions and desires; with Zeus still in Libra, we may be counting too much on co-operation and the largesse of others to make things happen, hence our vulnerability to illusion and delusion. A vow to be honest with ourselves is a good start, as is a fondness for the verifiable and for what we can hold in our hands.

From the current ECLIPSE, available by subscription:

4 PM of the 8th, Pacific time, there’s a trine of the Libra Moon to the Earth-Vesta conjunction. The effect could be rash action, or choices that go against the emotional grain, that result in a solid, material embodiment of our highest values, or the dedication we have to home and mate. Interesting to inspect those results, as they will tell us what we’re really honoring.

The 9th of December we’re back to familiar upsets and clashes, some of which may arrive in new garb (and so not immediately be recognized as old hat). Mars quincunxes Vesta while Earth conjuncts her and the Sun opposes her; our actions and choices will need to be adjusted, if we’re to take what we consider sacred seriously; it will be obvious what needs to change materially, too, in order to comply with those highest, best values.

Void begins at 11:55 AM Pacific time; the Moon enters Scorpio at 1:51 PM PST on 9 December.

The Moon immediately trines Neptune, starting us off on the journey through Scorpio with a strong dose of intuition, creativity, and/ or easy delusion accepted without even realizing it. Attune to the emotions and feel the creative and spiritual flow.

On December 10th we tell it like it is, with Merc moving into Sagittarius very late in the day, Pacific time–disputes come from varying ideas of ‘Truth’, varying philosophies, or varying information or knowledge levels, and with Merc’s position in 29 degrees Scorpio through most of the day, secrets and hidden matters causing stress or exploded into the light could be the fuel for much communication upset–and a really unusual dynamic accompanies this: Venus opposes Sedna, semi-squares Pluto, and trines Pallas, making for some serious decision-making that may be preternaturally wise even as it’s unconscious, guided from the depths of our Being!

Just a Little AstroEssence 7 December 2012: ‘Like Snowflakes’

From the current ECLIPSE:

Juno quincunx the South Node=we try to empower ourselves by responding and choosing differently than we did in the past–but in taking this tack we lose the benefit of both experience and hindsight. Thinking is hyper-emotional and perhaps vengeance-based or driven by secrets or a need to know, and likely we don’t realize it (Mercury in Scorpio) and criticism and nitpicking over details are prime expressions for misdirected discontent (Moon in Virgo). This combination makes experiences like snowflakes: no two are alike, though they’re all made of the same ‘stuff’. The key seems to lie with Neptune; our relationship to reality, the Truth, honesty, and creativity will all come to the fore, and how it all plays out is dependent on whether we take refuge in delusion, confusion, or the untrue, or whether we tap into our source of inspiration and channel that drive into consciously creative endeavors.

Just a Little Lunar Essence 5-6 December 2012: ‘Expanding Despite the Fear’

Jean Dodal Tarot ‘The Tower’ {{PD}}

Post 10 PM PST of the 5th the Cancer Moon squares Jupiter, giving us an impulse to pull back from expansion activities, probably out of fear. If transiting Jupiter is aspecting any major players in your chart, you need to assess the relationship–if it’s good (easy aspects like trines or sextiles, or in mutual reception with your natal Mercury, or reaching the Midheaven) then the fear may be a little thing I like to call the fear of SUCCESS. Although that’s really a misnomer (we tend to stay far away from what we truly fear) it is akin to the scary sensation of climbing a tower and looking down–we think about how we might fall, rather than that we’ve made it to the top–so you must decide if it’s just this misleading fear, or if it’s a genuine warning to take a step back.

A Comment on Today, and a Little AstroEssence for Tomorrow 4 December 2012: ‘A Fog in Mind’

'Waterloo Bridge' Monet 1904 {{PD-Art}}

‘Waterloo Bridge’ Monet 1904 {{PD-Art}}

In last week’s ECLIPSE I said this of today, the 3rd:

We may wake up in the morning with great difficulty recognizing what’s smart, a sensation intact as if it’s always been that way! or the condition of ‘disappearing wisdom’ may creep up on us like a fog on little cat feet (sorry, Mr. Sandburg!) We may react by running around like a chicken with our head cut off, or we may sink back so that our vision turns in to our own interior landscape, and spend our time contemplating what’s missing, what’s gone wrong.

And I don’t know about you, but that’s exactly how I spent it! The fog wasn’t disorienting so much as . . . maybe discouraging, and working was interrupted so many times it’s a wonder I got anything done. I turned inward, all right, in a kind of headache-y contemplation that I’m just now coming out of. I hope your day was better? That doesn’t seem right, my day was actually pleasant, just not the ultra-focused time I so often aim for. What about tomorrow, you ask? This is what I have to say about tomorrow, also from ECLIPSE–and really, if you come here for a glimpse ahead, don’t you deserve the detailed, hour-by-hour rundown?

December 4th plays a lot better, with Ceres entering Gemini by retrograde, and Mercury opposes Sedna and trines Pallas. Even though we feel a return of wisdom, and our reasoning powers seem on target, there is a little thing about sort of losing our minds that may get in the way. Nothing to panic over–sit back if you can, and remind yourself, “All the world is queer (mad crazy)save thee and me, and even thou art a little queer.” –Robert Owen, 1828

Just a Little AstroEssence for Your Weekend 30 November-2 December 2012: ‘Slightly Too Sentimental’

Relax this weekend, Kittens!  'Kitten's Play' by Ronner-Knip c1870 {{PD-Art}}

Relax this weekend, Kittens! ‘Kitten’s Play’ by Ronner-Knip c1870 {{PD-Art}}

A little something for Friday the 30th, Pacific time:

2 PM PST the Cancer Moon squares Uranus, showing us some dissonance arising from our own too rebellious or individualistic nature or seated in a disagreement with the group. Instinct is pushing us in this direction, but higher reason (a Uranian specialty) should tell us that there can be too much of a good thing. Pull back and gain. 4 PM PST the Moon trines Chiron and Saturn, forming a Grand Water Trine. At this point emotional perceptions, reality, and skills combine and intuit a ‘better way to be’ in the world. A lovely time of balance and discrete adjustment.

Saturday, we welcome December:

Just after midnight Luna  opposes Pluto and then quincunxes the Sun. This may shine a light on a harsh reality, or could find us saying, “I would never!” First, never say never isn’t just for James Bond–we non-spies need to remember that disowning darkness or that which repels us invites that very thing into our lives. In this instance our reaction is an emotional one that is probably rooted in a slightly too sentimental view of the world (Cancer), and can be tamed by simply remembering that we are capable of (but choose not to perpetrate) darkness.

And for Sunday, the 2nd:

The Sun opposes Jupiter, and so the Earth conjuncts it. This marks the midpoint of Jupiter’s retrograde cycle, and may be felt as a turning point in Jupiter-related matters; what was withdrawn or exploded (including overblown expectations!) upon our favorite gas giant’s retrograde will re-awaken, we’ll receive an encouraging word, or we may see developments that point to an inevitable, if delayed, return to similar conditions that existed at the outset. Not usually a big effect, but one that can signal both changes and a change in attitude that can assist us, especially on the social front.

15th century {{PD}}

28 November Pallas squares Juno and Venus sextiles Pluto–and that doesn’t even count the Lunar eclipse! These two aspects suggest a tug-of-war between wisdom and empowerment (sounds familiar, of late) and the temptation to sell out in order to feel that power. Let’s just call this a theme that may weave itself into the eclipse material obliquely, challenging already tense psyches with the power/ values/ payoff conundrum.

Get ECLIPSE for more on current aspects and the full eclipse story.

And get your LoveMap here!

There’s a new offer in town! Get a subscription for yourself and get one for a friend for less than half price! Sorry, subscriptions in this offer must run concurrently (at the same time). Order at right-
