This is the Full Moon report, from ECLIPSE; watch for my new book on Vesta, coming this summer, and see all my books here–thanks, and happy Full Moon!

The Full June Moon (perfect for spooning!) occurs at 9:18 AM Pacific time of the 2nd at 11 Sagittarius 49, sextiles Ceres, squares Neptune, is widely opposed Mars but a little too wide to count in opposition to Mercury (chiefly because movement is mutually away from meeting, rather than toward it), and is also sesquiquadrate Venus. This last listed aspect, to Venus, may be the most deceptive one, as we likely won’t even associate the ending, culmination, or event of the Full Moon with relationship or financial implications—and yet that’s the area (along with potential effects in the natal Houses ruled by Venus) where repercussions of what happens will finally land. We can expect the Full Moon to be the culmination of surgery on the psyche, with the effects to finances or relationships the unfortunate complications that come after.

Need they be negative? Not at all—in fact, the culmination offers us both an opportunity and a challenge—to take a good hard look at the use of our creative energy (and that can flow into literally any life area) and to ‘own our authority’, that personal sense of competence and the right to make our own choices that we can sometimes be too easily shaken from. The FM points out that we remain powerful no matter what, and it tells us that the effect is targeted in one, specific direction: we have the ability to change what’s not working, to re-direct energy so that it’s not squandered, and to banish procrastination and the need to seek permission—the events of this FM show us in no uncertain terms that we are our own authorities, we are powerful in our own lives—and we must both accept and admit that, and in doing so acknowledge that, to an extreme degree, we are the arbiters of our fate.

The Full Moon reminds us of our natural power, rejects fantasy and what’s untrue, and asks us to put the ego aside; we are invited into a powerful role that we were born to hold, one that allows no deception, that is pure in its expression, that connects us to the natural world in a psychic, spiritual, and visceral way. The culmination of this Lunar energy in Sagittarius demands that we respect knowledge, reality, and the Collective connection through shared information, common experience, and cultural similarities—and that we do so in a state that is both in line with Nature and true to ourselves, which requires openness and honesty—if we’re clinging to any false beliefs about ourselves or our world, we will have to let them go—and if we don’t, we see the difficulties those false beliefs cause when they infect the relationship or financial sphere.

The Sabian for the Full Moon is, ‘A Flag Turns Into An Eagle; The Eagle Into A Chanticleer Saluting The Dawn’. What begins as simple flag-waving, as loyalty instilled by rote, transforms into something dignified and noble, into something living and beautiful—the allegiance that seemed routine grows into a sincere feeling of beauty, pride, and constancy—and once we reach a level of understanding that allows us to ‘soar’ we can then take on the role of teacher, town crier, journalist, speaker, sharer, example, which by our very expression brings enlightenment to others.

We also look at the Sun for a Full Moon: ‘A Negro Girl Fights For Her Independence In The City’. Ignore the antiquated language and consider that when this symbol was formed through the agency of Elsie Wheeler and Marc Edmund Jones in 1925, the situation for a black girl looking for autonomy in a city was quite different than it is today; in that time there were few avenues open to her, and independence was only possible within a very restricted compass (though in any age there are always exceptions, such as Madame CJ Walker, who revolutionized the cosmetics industry in service to African-American women). Since the Sun sheds the ‘origin light’ that makes the entire dynamic of Sun-Moon interplay visible, this Sun Sabian may refer to a need within ourselves to recognize that our fight for progress and autonomy only occurs within a vary narrow spectrum of possibilities at any one time. Though we feel the whole world open before us, and myriad potentials within our grasp, with the array of possibilities seemingly overwhelming at times, the reality is that there are usually only a few directions we may take at any one moment, and these are often not so far from one another. It’s a myriad of small choices one after another that usually ends up bringing big change, and most of those choices occur beneath the level of conscious thought (in the Moon’s territory), revealed only by application of awareness (contact by the Sun). If we can be conscious of the parameters within which we make our choices, we will see that no matter how big the change feels, we still make that change, or move forward on the Path, one step at a time—that’s why it’s so important to not only keep our goals in mind, but to measure our actions in terms of how effectively they move us toward them.

Just a little from my New Moon assessment, part of the ECLIPSE subscription package; to see it all, please subscribe!

New Moon on 21 December at 5:36 PM Pacific time at 00 Capricorn 06: Self-Possession
Even with generous orbs we only get New Moon contact in two notable ways: a trine to Black Moon Lilith, and a sesquiquadrate to Juno, and it also squares the Aries Point, suggesting the importance of the NM in a way the aspects don’t reveal, such that what occurs may be life-altering. A NM is an inception, but what is born here? In Capricorn we’re talking about energies of a constructive nature, perhaps of containment or for forming boundaries. The Lilith aspect says this Moon could act like a funnel, bringing forward every ignored or hidden matter, forcing us to begin to deal with them. It could also birth a Lilithian rage, a need to condemn every injustice we’ve suffered. And it could bring us to a point of accepting our position as we find ourselves, and then giving us the cojones to walk away from whatever we find unacceptable, in terms of our dignity, our honor, or our Self-respect. This definitely impacts our empowerment situation, but in a very specific way: we are at a point of complete Self-possession, so that any clout we got from partnerships, status, or through others may be endangered because we won’t see ourselves as interdependent anymore. This can be good—we will never again allow anyone to mistreat us—or bad—we could throw out our babies (relationships, financial arrangements, jobs, reciprocal situations) with our insistently independent bathwater (I’ll bet those three words have never appeared together in that order in a sentence before).

Sharing with you the entire Daily for October 2nd. Support the blog and get it all, subscribe!

2 October our ambitions and desires come on strong and possibly take over our efforts; attention to instinct and ‘gut’ feelings must be paid, or we suffer by overdoing, over expanding, or exaggerating and losing our chance—and don’t listen to the social circle, they’ll just egg us on. (Perfecting today: Jupiter sextile Zeus, Sun sesquiquadrate Sedna)

The Lunar Outlook for the 2nd: 1 AM PDT of the 2nd the Capricorn Moon squares Zeus. We may put up emotional barriers to fulfilling our own ambitions and wants–somehow barriers feel safer than giving ourselves permission. For now respect the emotional need. 6:30 AM PDT the Moon squares the Nodal axis and sextiles Ceres-Saturn. We feel we have natural power and authority at this time, but this doesn’t seem to help us deal with our life direction–we are somehow heading for emotional upset, and may find ourselves coping with our own emotional denial so we can handle the friction. Recognize that boundaries are something we must agree to in order for them to have any power, and that laying out the actual, physical boundaries of our own territory may be a very good exercise, making clearer to ourselves better than any other way can just where we do and don’t hold sway. Noon the Moon quincunxes Black Moon Lilith and squares Pallas. We are made uncomfortable by circumstances and matters we’d rather ignore, but we know it isn’t wise to avoid dealing with these. How to handle this? Approach tough subjects with restraint and calm–the Cappy Moon offers support to those who go slow, follow the ‘rules’, and do their best to meet matters in a disciplined way. 3 PM PDT the Moon trines Sedna. Instinct and intuition inform each other, and put us in the perfect ‘space’ to understand completely whatever environment or interaction we undertake. 9 PM PDT the Moon opposes Juno and sextiles Vesta. We may stymie our own empowerment by adhering too strictly to our highest standards; it’s better to bend than break, in the name of moving forward.

Today’s image: cookies and milk. Be on the lookout, for these as a synchronicity marker, or as a delicious snack.

Full Moon in Pisces 8 September 2014: Finishing With Pain

‘An Accident’ Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret 1878 {{PD}}

. . . . as in, ‘getting rid of or being done with pain’. The Full Moon in Pisces occurs at 6:38 PM Pacific time of the 8th at 16 Pisces 19, and is conjunct Chiron, quincunx Zeus, and captures Saturn, Vesta, and Juno in a Water Grand Trine. Since a FM is a culmination, we are arriving at an ending—but of what? Most likely the ending of some hurtful situation or wound which is healed via our own emotion-guided empowerment that comes directly from living our highest values in some form. The reality picture requires we modify ambitions and desires, and thereby we create surroundings that truly meet our highest standards—and this is very possibly through modifications or changes on the home front, with our behavior toward and treatment of the mate, and/ or by aligning our goals with what we honor and find sacred. This is a course-correction point that offers significant lessening of psychic and emotional pain, if we 1) will apply the needed changes to the environment and practices, and 2) be willing to let the pain go. Miss either component, and things stay much the same.

Keep your eyes open–the Trickster doesn’t always wear a bright, diamond-patterned jumpsuit. Edgar Degas – Arlequin danse, c. 1890 {{PD}}

20 August wisdom is found in dark places, and in standing up for ourselves, though one place we won’t find good alternatives offered is on the home front or by the mate; it might be too much a time when everyone is focused on their own creative empowerment, and so what they share will speak more of their own insecurities and power situations than anything else. Avoid authorities today; they won’t be any help. Stand on your own two feet, though, and you can make dreams a reality. (Perfecting today: Pallas semi-square Black Moon Lilith, Vesta contra-parallel Pallas, Neptune trine Juno, Mercury contra-parallel Ceres)

The Moon enters Cancer at 1:45 AM PDT of the 20th. 9:30 AM PDT the Cancer Moon squares Pallas and trines Ceres. We may be trundling along, feeling pretty satisfied (the Cancer Moon can have that effect) when suddenly we realize we’re doing something (or allowing something to happen) that is decidedly unwise–and further, someone is increasing their power or reach because of it. Deployment of skills is called for, along with a Willingness (no, a complete commitment) to claim our own power and territory, and stand ready to defend it. Just the readiness makes conflict unlikely. 2 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Juno and forms a Water Grand Trine with Neptune and Vesta. We are empowered specifically through our emotions; equal parts creativity and dedication make up the recipe that offers truly effective empowerment options. 9 PM PDT the Moon opposes Pluto and sextiles Mercury, catching Venus at the midpoint of the two. What’s communicated, what we hear, shows us exactly where the darkness lies, who is at the heart of it, what can be gained, and exactly what needs to change–“wisdom is found in dark places”. Now it’s up to us.

Today’s image is a Trickster figure, who awards you something favorable. Watch for this person, and thank them–Tricksters aren’t always out to fool you, you know 🙂

‘Fairy Islands’ from the book Elves and Fairies 1916 by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite {{PD}}

8 AM PDT of the 2nd the Libra Moon quincunxes Sedna. Feelings, especially about relationships, are jarred by things in our ‘blind spot’–and so the origin of the disturbed feelings can’t be pinpointed. Noon the Moon trines Juno and semi-sextiles Pallas. Our empowerment relies on listening to that still, small voice of wisdom–but remember, it’s a choice, so we’re not guaranteed to stop and pay attention, and the voice won’t bother to shout–we have to be willing to hear what it’s saying. 4 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Ceres. The power balance in relationships is examined–negotiations, overt or covert, are in order, and Nature and one’s sense of authority all have their say in what’s worked out. This can even things out between individuals in such a way that it makes for a long-lasting and stable interaction, or it can show us that equity and balance will never be achieved with that particular person. An eye-opener that we should pay attention to. Void begins at 5:40 PM PDT; the Moon enters Scorpio at 7:57 PM Pacific. 10 PM PDT the Moon conjuncts Vesta. We may look for emotional comfort on the home front, with the mate, or by diving in to causes to which we dedicate our life energy–or we may intuit something happening below the surface in one or more of these areas. The Scorpio Moon will dig to discover what’s hidden–be ready for an emotional revelation.

3 August thoughts and words may be darker or more destructive than we intend—in fact, we may not realize the power behind what we think and say at all! Too, illusion may seem preferable to the truth at this point. With just a small adjustment to the focus of our attention we can see both what’s powerful and what’s destructive—and so can avoid inflicting inadvertent damage. (Perfecting today: Mercury contra-parallel Pluto and quincunx Neptune, Sun quincunx Pluto)

The Daily Word Image for the 3rd is tiny green fairy lights in the summer garden. Time to fantasize, dream, and maybe consider the life forces, beings, and energies we can’t (or won’t) see.

And from an article on the life and death of founding member of the Rolling Stones Brian Jones (charts are here):

“Brian Jones has a 7th House Pisces Sun close to the South Node; Sun close to a Node implies birth close to an eclipse, and a Total Lunar eclipse arrived almost exactly three days later, on the 3rd. The eclipse was conjunct Jones’ North Node, his Ascendant, and his Earth (and so opposed his Sun), square his Jupiter, ruler of the 4th, and trine his Vesta. The emphasis on home and place, and on the identity so soon after birth may have sensitized his first conscious days to an extraordinary degree, setting up a condition of awareness of the loss of the Cosmic condition of the womb, and an existential longing that nothing earthly could quell. This may be reflected in his purchase, just a year before his death, of the house where A. A. Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh, Cotchford Farm; it seems an unusual choice for a premier rock star of the day, a sentimental and comforting atmosphere in a relatively isolated setting that was the opposite of the contemporary music scene.”

2 PM PDT the Leo Moon sextiles Ceres. We get along well with those in authority, or are in touch with our own power and able to show it. Negotiations guided by intuition go well, too. 6 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Vesta; both are at 29 degrees. In spite of things in the home, with causes to which we’re dedicated, or interaction with the mate, running smoothly, we’re still tense and possibly snappish. This period may test our commitment to values and to our usual peace-loving attitude. Void begins at 7:14 PM Pacific time; the Moon enters Virgo at 8:37 PM PDT. 10:30 PM PDT the Moon sextiles Mars. It’s easy at this point to become aggressive and critical–but we can choose instead to put our attention on taking detail-oriented action.

Today’s image is a man who returns to a house where he lived many years ago, and finds the current occupants do not welcome him in. It’s important we recognize that no matter our memories, our surroundings change, and psychically and otherwise, we may no longer ‘fit’ in old places or old scenarios. Heraclitus reminds us, we can’t step into the same river twice: it is not the same river, and we are not the same person.

3 AM PDT of the 16th the Pisces Moon opposes Pallas. We may be inspired or just deluded, but either way we may be tempted to ignore the smart thing to do. Don’t. 10 AM PDT the Moon forms the base of a Finger of God with Sedna, catching the South Node at the midpoint, apex the North Node and Ceres; the Moon also trines the Sun. We sense what we can’t really see, something linking us to the past, and this informs both the future and our sense of personal authority and power. Our vision is clear at this point, so that anything we conclude, even when it’s gleaned from unconscious sources, will be accurate and informative. 12:30 PM PDT the Moon creates another Finger with Sedna, this time with an apex of Mars and Vesta. What we’ve sensed now prompts action or choice; the good news is what we act on or choose is directly in line with our truest values. 5:30 PM PDT the Moon squares Venus. Our sense of the creative or a need for escape is in conflict with relationship or financial needs. Don’t blow something important just for a few hours off, but do note the need you feel at this time: it’s indicative of some itch that can cause trouble if it’s not eventually scratched. Void begins at 5:59 PM PDT; the Moon enters Aries at 9:07 PM PDT and immediately trine Jupiter fresh in Leo. We may have an excited and expansive feeling about the social scene or from knowledge just gained; this is a great way to kick off the Moon in Aries, as this confidence and excitement primes us for Aries flavored action.

Certainly more dramatic than a burst pipe. ‘Fisherman and the Siren’ Knut Ekwall {{PD}}

1 AM PDT of the 25th the Gemini Moon squares Pallas. What we’re thinking may be at odds with what’s wise–let feelings break the tie. 3 AM PDT the Moon fills in the base to a Finger of God with Black Moon Lilith, apex Pluto. It’s time to look at emotional secrets, those things we’d hoped to keep hidden, and deal with them for good; the payoff will be a clean slate, and maybe a little power. 9 AM PDT the Moon trines Zeus; our intuition supports our ambitions, and act as an excellent guide. 11 AM PDT the Moon sextiles Uranus and trines Mars. We act (or talk about acting) but surprise ourselves or others with the unexpected, the innovative, or the original. Go with it. 1 PM PDT the Moon quincunxes Saturn and squares Chiron. We may find ourselves adjusting the surroundings to fit our wounds; protect yourself, but realize too much coddling may actually prevent healing. 5:30 PM PDT the Moon trines Vesta-Ceres. We connect with what’s important to us through feeling–and behind that we find power.

Today’s image is a burst pipe. This brings to mind the unexpected gush of emotion, the kind of feeling that overwhelms and simply won’t be contained. There is something that is nearing this point with you, something you feel strongly about–and haven’t adequately expressed. Find it and let it out, before any damage is done.

‘The Sense of Sight’ Philip Mercier c1746 {{PD}}

4 AM PDT of the 16th the Aquarius Moon opposes Black Moon Lilith. We may perceive a real distance between our innermost compulsions and temptations and our intellectual understanding of what it is that we need. The best approach to level ground between the two may be to translate those needs through the intuition–skip what you think and go with what you feel. 7:30 AM PDT the Moon trines Mars. Taking action or making choices is easy–the mind is clear on the direction we’d like to take, in spite of Merc’s retro status–or perhaps, because of that apparent backward motion, the mind gets out of its own way that much more easily. If we need cooperation from others, now’s the time to ask. 10:30 AM PDT the Moon trines Zeus. The emotional reactions support the ambitions and desires–without conflict within the feeling nature, we can pursue our wants at twice the usual speed and efficiency. Noon the Moon sextiles Uranus. Spontaneity that rises from our mood can bring surprising and enlightening experiences. 2 PM PDT the Moon trines Vesta, squares Saturn, and semi-sextiles Chiron. Something in the reality scenario gets in the way of us being able to honor those causes to which we’re dedicated, or to spend adequate time on the home front or with the mate–and this results in some hurt, our own or someone else’s. Find out if what you honor is impractical in real-world terms (and so doesn’t fit the reality scenario–if, in other words, what you’re pretending to honor is contradicted by the actual life you’ve built around you) or if the surroundings or commitments need to be modified to allow you to dedicate sufficient time and energy to those things that really matter. 5 PM PDT the Moon trines Ceres, offering us the cooperation or assistance of authorities or harmony between our own feelings and our expressions of power. 10 PM PDT the Moon squares Venus. Relationships may erupt in conflict as one or both parties rely on the intellect in matters that should rely on the heart.

Today’s image is a magnifying glass. Look closely; the details are very important right now.
